Someone must know all the great roads between here and SLC. I would like to take a couple of days and avoid Wyoming. What back roads will get me to SLC? Thanks :)

A route:

Colorado Springs
Woodland Park, CO
Buena Vista, CO
Highway 82 over Independence Pass
Carbondale, CO
Highway 133 over McClure Pass
Paonia, CO
Hotchkiss, CO
Cedaredge, CO
Highway 65 over the Grand Mesa
Loma, CO
Highway 139 over Douglas Pass
Dinosaur, CO
Vernal, UT
Highway 40 past Strawberry Reservoir
SLC

Not just making this up. I've ridden all of these routes and this is how I would go (if I was confined to asphalt roads). 8)

A little extra detail on the Vernal, UT to SLC section:
Don't go all the way to Strawberry Resevoir, instead

Follow Highway 40 from Steamboat Springs out 200 miles to Highway 208 go ten miles North and you come to Highway 35. Turn West. Ride and enjoy. Best kept secret in the state is a twisty road called Wolf Creek Pass, otherwise known as Highway 35. It has almost no traffic, is kept in immaculate condition, and you'll be sure to get your knee down over and over in its curves.
In about 40 miles, you'll hit my hometown, Francis, UT
From there, work your way North to 248, West to 40, then North to I-70 and take Parley's Canyon to SLC - another great run.

Hey Joe, that looks good! I'll try that one too, next time I'm up that way. Thanks for the "local's favorite". 8)
