Yep, news the other day.

I see someone wanting to ban the stuff now all because of some idiot children.

Need to have more relaxed drinking in the U.S. It's pretty sad children will go to great lengths to have a drink, to be cool when all they have to do it open a bottle of booze.

My daughter will be allowed to have a drink from time to time to teach responsibility and that there is nothing SPECIAL about drinking. One thing with Europeans drinking is not seen as a big deal.

What happened to the days of just taking some booze out of dads collection? My parents were cool, I was allowed in High School to take anything that was opened. Then I learned it was no big deal to just go to the US commissary in Vienna and buy my own 5th of Jack for $15....LOL

This is how drinking progressed for me:
Elementary age - A sip of a wine cooler from time to time (popular in the 80's)
Middle School - Have a drink at special occasions
High School:
9th Grade get loaded and pass out, found out it was not fun.
10th Grade get loaded but only make it a one time pass out for the year.
11th Grade drink responsibly, but get real drunk but not pass out or puke.
12th Grade drink socially with classmates and discuss world topics, watch others pass out in lower grades.
Collage - I could not understand why people wanted to go out and get shit faced, I passed that faze in 10th grade. *shrug* I did not fit in, I typically would have a drink before bed in the dorms...LOL

Today - I don't drink often, but I do drink. Just got back from Denver where Sunday I stayed over at my friends place and we drank. I drank a half a 5th of Jack...went to bed woke up and drove home. No hangover. I have only been shit faced in front of the wife once, and she never has been. Maybe 4 times a year I drink a lot...I never drink beer, and rarely order a drink at a restaurant.

Drinking is nothing special, getting drunk is NO fun.

Oh well my point being the US has some terrible drinking laws for age. Makes no sense.

We did a toxic substances class at the Children's Hospital EMS conference a couple months ago, you wouldn't believe the shit kids eat/drink/"intake" to get a rush. It's fun to talk to the docs that work there and deal with that crap every day, they have some stories.
