Currently on eBay for $18.5k. I would definitely need to wear some Depends, seriously, and up the life insurance policy...

HP rating seems very generous out of just a 1-liter motor, and just 25psi, but who knows...

It does have 2k miles after the build, so it would need to be thoroughly checked out, compression and leakdown tests, motor/head builder reputation, receipts, etc.

After doing a rough add-up of bike, internals, turbo kit, fuel, hardware/plumbing, electronics, etc., the price isn't too crazy actually. I don't doubt he spent well over $25k+ after adding labor. He claims $30k into it.

bahaha shit I can only wish, one sweet bike for sure. Hopefully whoever gets in won't trash it in a block against a wall or something dumb like that... My R1 is pretty gnarly as is, I can't imagine double the HP lol

That HP figure is suspect. No matter how new-fangled that (DBB "hybrid") turbo is, a gt30 isn't gonna squeeze 250 EXTRA HP out of 1 liter motor, I don't think. Stock cams, no other power-adders besides a slight HP increase with e85. Common sense prevails...

Billings is ~3000ft above sea level, but still. Outrageous.

I'm sure the bike would scare my nuts right out of my pants...but for $20k they better do a hell of a lot better on fit and finish. The wires under the tailsection? The red exhaust flange? I could do better drunk and one handed...

Doesn't really do anything for me. Nothing I could ever create of course, so I do appreciate the mechanics involved; but I'd rather own Joe's superbike R1 that he has for sale, for 1/4 the cost. Just my .02 though.

PSSH 25 psi and no cooler. That thing is more of a ticking time bomb than my KTM.

I know a kid back home with a turbo R1, and it barely makes 200rwhp

We're talking less than 1 pound of bike per rwhp here - and 100% traction: INSANITY!

I'm really curious as to how he managed this... rediculously good traction control?

I remember 'Busa's and ZX's making over 400, but, yeah, that 450 number seems a little high. Although, he did all the right things with Carillo rods and having the trans cryo'd for strength. I don't know that those engine cases would hold 450hp though.

As for making power out of a 1 liter motor, remember, in the 1.5 liter 4-cyl turbo heyday of F1, the top engines were reportedly making about 1,500 hp in qualifying trim!

I looked at the RCC turbo and engine build out of canada back in 07' and for the gt35r kit and engine build.....it came out to about 30k. Plus shipping haha. But luckily I didn't or I would have probably killed myself at some point. At the time, the 35r was rated with engine build for 550, while they came out with a 42r kit a few months later. Two friend in the States got them right off the bat and each supposedly made just a hair over 700hp.

Now, theres 0 chance with my non-existent budget.....plus the busa is sold anyway.

The water/meth injection acts as the intercooler. Not to mention e-85 burns cooler.

Seems like that would be the smarter way to go, if you don't build the internals like this eBay one. Especially on a bike with ONE tire for traction. Use a real small turbo, and put out enough boost to get like 250-300 reliable WHP.

I'd love to see the dyno curve on this thing. See just how ski slope-ish it is, and where it spools...

He's geared really high and has an extended swing arm. Both should help keep the wheel from spinning up too bad or the front from lifting. Under WOT im sure it will spin and lift like crazy but I bet its rideable.

Not to mention the 240 rear tire. He's only got the swingarm 2" longer than stock.
