So we used to do these poker runs back home. Usually it was sponsored by a dealership. We would cover a couple hundred miles stopping at 5 predetermined check points to draw a card. Then meet up for a BBQ and hand out prizes for best hand, worst hand, if anyone had a full house, etc. The prizes were typically donated by the sponsoring dealership. Stuff like shop gift certificates, TShirts, etc.
It takes alot of time, effort, cooperation and manpower to organize one but they are a blast. We would typically do 1 or 2 a year and always had well over 150 bikes show.
I would be put one together if there is enough interest. Maybe annual 4th of July thing?
Thoughts? Interest?

The guys at the Tailgate in Parker would throw down. I was chatting with them last week about doing something sport bike related for Mo-Door and they were really responsive.

Mo-Door could probably sponsor some part of the ride as well.

I would be willing to help plan so let me know.

Most businesses are usually willing to donate since its a cheap way to reach alot of people.

Sorry I wasnt all that clear. Tailgate is a great bar in Parker, would be a great stop and I know the owners. They would definitely help out.

My company can donate as well. So if this gets off and you would like help let me know.

I'd have to disagree. Ive been there three times now and I left on my own accord all three times. Until I've been thrown out of bar it just doesnt give me that warm feeling. :devil2:

Ur right, great neighborhood bar.

Cool. Sorry to hear.

The old owners just this month bought the bar back. Either way, good luck with the poker run.

Let me try this again.
Insert sarcasm here "unless I've been thrown out of the bar it just doesn't feel right".
Translation, "tailgaters is a great neighborhood bar that I have yet to make an ass of myself in.".

Thanks Ron.
Contact me.
This exactly the info I need. I'm excited about putting this together. It's just alot of work and will involve participation from alot of people. I don't wanna do it for a dozen bikes. So keeping it comin CSC. I have a short list of prizes and vendors in mind if I get enough interest.
This has the makings for a great charity event......... http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=46237

Fay Myers is usually pretty involved in the local scene, and they always want more potential customers coming through their doors.
Hit up Longrider (Paul) on here and see if he can help, or you can call Fay and ask for Carla Finn (Fay's Marketing Director)

I need some input on a date to start setting this up. I'm thinking on Wed, the 4th of July. Everybody will be off work. It's not a race weekend, it's middle of the week so no traveling to grandma's house for the weekend. Start in the morning, BBQ and prizes mid afternoon, then home to watch fireworks. Only thing Im worried about conflicting with is the firecracker 500, but I think that's on a Sunday?
Thoughts........

I would not recommend the 4th. Most people are hanging out with friends and family.

I know we won't be traveling on the 4th because it's middle of the week.

I'd pick a Sat/Sunday non-holiday.

As much as I hate to admit it my beautiful wife agrees that the 4th of July might be a bad idea. So how about the weekend before or after?

Possible conflicts weekend before.
MRA @ Puebelo
Firecracker 500

Possible conflicts weekend after.
Pikes Peak Hill Climb
Firecracker 500

Or a different day and month all together?
I know I can't make everyone happy and what ever day it's on someone will say its a bad idea. I get that. But everyone's input is helpful.
