And it's in the form of this storm that has been hovering over Parker for 2 hours. Anyone else watching the epic lightning?

I left work just in time tonight! I did get rained on a little and felt a couple hailstones as I passed the Pinery but I was dry before I got to Franktown. leave 30 minutes later and I would be hiding out somewhere

Now as for the wind....

It was all I could do to stay on my side of the road and then turning into the wind to go down my street was a real adventure

Sometimes I'm quite happy that I'm all up in the Front Range's shit and all that nasty stuff usually just blows over.

Just put the gopro in the driveway to catch some lightning shots. Hail storm got pretty heavy but cornfed lives 5 minutes south of me and he got a pile of hail on his front step.

My kid is just dancing and saying wow to the thunder and lightning and my husky wont leave the bedroom

I miss the nightly thunder storms we have back home. We usually had less hail and more tornadoes though.

^^ Getting out of east Parker this evening, the streets were covered in hail. It clogged the drains so there was quite a bit of flooding... I was really wishing I had driven the truck. By the time I got to Parker Road, all was clear.

Did see one downed tree on Quincy, but definitely worse farther south.

LOVED riding into work this morning! Pretty humid, but still warm. There are some corners and low spots with sand, but not enough you can't ride around it

I wore the wet weather gear in case the ride home starts to get a little rainy. Besides, the heavy stuff won't come down again until I'm in a dead sleep like last night... just in time to wake me up for 2 hrs

quick one of the hood...

Every body panel looks just as bad. Initial reaction by the body shop was $6-7K. I guess I'm kind of glad that I didn't have my truck down there because that would have most definitely been a total loss. Now the insurance game begins.

Same thing on my A6. Estimate from insurance shop was $2k, estimate from Audi shop was something like $8-9k, final bill to insurance was around $11k.

The adjustor missed all the damage to the trim pieces, and wrote everything else up for PDR, even the stuff that had to have traditional repair because of its location. On on hood, it was actually cheaper for them to replace and repaint than try and do that much PDR.

I would take their estimate with a grain (or a whole shaker) of salt.

^^ Haven't heard back from insurance yet... 6-7K was the WAG from the body shop. Figured insurance would go 100% PDR for repair and that it'll be a fight.

Penadam
Fri Jun 8th, 2012, 12:09 PM
I never had to personally fight insurance. The body shop always took care of it. They would call the adjustor out and show then what needed to be done and why it would cost that much, and insurance would accept it. Only thing to be worried about is the bill getting so high they total it out.

Last years "catastrophy" led to over $8,300 worth of repairs on my truck, and a new roof on the house. Truck looked like a golf ball, it blew through plastic cowls, and a tonneau cover. Insurance was pretty easy since 3/4 of cheyenne had claims. GL

Just a note, I was asked by insurance before if I had been driving and if so, did I pull over. This may or may not be a trick question, car was parked at work so I am thinking that if it happened on the road, you would want to tell the agent you pulled over and stopped.

Kind of like the animal thing, if you swerve to avoid an animal or dead roadkill and you damage you car hitting something else, it's your fault. If the animal runs out and hits you, then it's not your fault.
