My company (ITT Exelis (http://www.exelisinc.com)) is looking for candidates for the position of Mechanical/ Aeronautical Engineer (Math or Physics peeps are fine, too, see below).

Full time with bennies, but must be a US Citizen and be able to get a security clearance. Position is geared towards entry level and up to 5 years experience. This will probably stay open at MOST for 30 days as we're looking for people NOW (even though it's not yet posted on the company website).

If interested and somewhat qualified, ping me directly and I'll send you the Req ID and contact info to submit resume and cover letter.

Description:
Missile Model (Mech/Aero) Engineer to join the Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Threat Modeling Center (TMC) on the JRDC program at Schriever AFB, CO (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=720+irwin+rd,+schriever+afb,+co&hl=en&sll=38.816171,-104.559631&sspn=0.487389,0.383835&hnear=Irwin+Rd&t=m&z=15). Detail-oriented engineer responsible for quality checking high fidelity ballistic missile and space launch models and trajectories used in a variety of modeling and simulation tools and media. Must have or be able to get a good understanding of modeling and simulation methods and processes. Must be able to research, interpret and apply knowledge about missile or space launch vehicles to include staging, debris, counter measures and RV / payload traits. Must be able to apply standard engineering and mathematical algorithms to ensure the accurate portrayal of expected missile or space launch behavioral characteristics during all phases of powered and un-powered flight.

Minimum Requirements:
Successful candidate will have a degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering, mathematics, or physics and 2+ years related work experience. May consider an entry level candidate. A strong knowledge of the flight characteristics, motion, and performance of ballistic missiles is required. The selected individual must be able to work with little or no direct supervision; work as an integral member of a product delivery team and meet time critical delivery schedules.

Preferred Requirements:
Strong background in missile system engineering performance; mastery of engineering modeling principles behind body motion, trajectory generation, counter measures, and debris is a plus.

Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance which requires US citizen. A Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information may be required.
