What kind of phone? For Android, Flikie rules, TONS of cool pics sorted by category. Nature, guns, chicks, military, cars, CG, cartoon, whatever. Download it from the market.

Flikie, Zedge, & Backgrounds are all good.

Also get Wallpaper Rotator, if the Flikie rotate function doesn't work right on your model Android.
