So I've had a DRZ supermoto for a few years now but I would really like something a bit better. I have to wheel setups for it, love it with the knobbies off road and with the slicks on road :slap:

What would people recommend to get that would be an upgrade from it but still do the same things (just better)? Needs to be street legal.

WR450? EXC450? Husky450 ?????????

My cousin had a 2009 KTM 690 Enduro-R/SM was a lot of fun...

I was talking to a guy last weekend who races in the supermoto series and he was saying he rides a Honda CRF450.

Here ya go!

Also look at these. The 525 has the same chassis as the 450 (at least for the EXC's), 5 pounds more, and more hp. I have no idea how it's set up differently between the EXC and SMR. Plus, 6 speed tranny.

Awesome bike but I'd want to stay smaller for offroad stuff.

I saw that red framed WR the other day on Clist. There's a nice KTM 450 SXC (???? something like that, not the EXC) with the SM and dirt setup.

Wonder how the honda's are for maintenance?

Wonder how the honda's are for maintenance?SX is supercross (I think) and is meant for motocross tracks. Very close gearing and not good as a road or trail bike. I'm not 100% sure on this, but pretty sure.

Husqvarna 510 or 610. Or KTM 690 SMC. Both are street legal and both have street and dirt setups available.

I was really considering the KTM 690 SMC. The only bitch is that I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseem. An the KTMs seat height is at 36" or 37."

Read a review when I was first considering a SuMo where the tester was 5' 8" w 30" inseam and he said that while it's a stretch when stopped it's pretty perfect when riding.

YMMV

I sat on it plenty of times. Great riding position. Just had to be completely off the bike to get my tippy toes down on one foot.

690 is basically a street oriented bike, would suck on anything more that dirt roads.
WR450 would be a good choice, CRF450 is a race bike with crap valves. 525SMR has no lighting coil. EXC is a good choice.

Of curiosity, since I was recently looking at DRZs, what are the major reasons you're tired of it?

That would be cool. Any chance you would want to trade bikes for an hour or so???? (not the DRZ, I also have a F800GS)

Any opinion on the TE510? Seems similar to the EXC's Love the looks of it.

Not really tired of it, just want more power. I actually love it, fun as shit on the roads and dirt. If I could drop 50lbs off it, add about 20hp and keep the reliablity it would be perfect.

Great bike but limited support.

I keep hearing that, tough to get parts. If I get them online though, it shouldn't matter too much. What about the gearing? I hear its tighter than the EXC's

I'd would be down for that, you want dirt or sumo rims on it?
