You cruised over two lanes of I-70, or Wads? Did you at least signal, and start that signal at least a full second or two before starting your change? Or did you just fly right over. No biggie, I'm just curious what the cop observed...

ON I70 going west from the Wadsworth off ramp, Turn light was on I was fully in the clear was going 50 ish accelerating to 60-65 which is the speed limit but i did not stop in each lane. forward distance i would say was half a block from start to finish so its not like i Gunned it over

11.7 CHANGING LANES

You must check for possible hazards or vehicles in the lane

you want to enter. This means you must check for traffic

ahead, to the side, and behind your vehicle before you
change lanes. Changing lanes includes: Changing from
one lane to another, passing another vehicle, merging
onto a roadway from an entrance ramp, and entering the
roadway from the curb or shoulder.
When changing lanes, you should:
1. Turn your signal on.
2. Check your mirrors.

3. Check your blind spot. (Look over your shoulder.)

4. If it is safe, you may change lanes.
5. Turn off your signal after completing the lane change.

OI in other words i got pulled over just cause he can pull me over
I looked had turn signal on No CARS forward or back for over half a block
I was going speed of traffic if not more so no one was coming up on me or i on them at the time

In the end i blame Grim for buying a Sumo all the cops just want to look for go pro's now =)

Technically you did violate a traffic infraction, I can see how you feel it's petty. In my opinion it was probably dual purpose:

1) It's an aggressive move which would lead the Officer to believe you ride aggressively all the time. So a stop and chat may get you to ride a bit more cautiously.

2) It was a pre-textual stop to see if something more comes of it. Since nothing did and everything was in order, he cut you loose.

Lastly, I can all but guarantee you it wasn't 30 minutes ;-) Though traffic stops feel long to you, they actually go by fairly quickly. The courts have even ruled over 20 minutes for an average stop is unreasonable and a Constitutional violation unless there's a reason for it to take that long.

The reason I'm asking why you posted this thread is because I didn't understand what you're complaining about. You did something wrong, you got pulled over, the officer gave you a warning, and sent you on your way. I'm guessing you didn't give the cop an attitude or try to argue, so maybe you should post a "how I avoided a ticket" thread so other members can follow your example.

But, if this a "Fuck the police, stupid pig mother fucker, pulling me over for no reason"thread, then please, continue and excuse my interruption.

 These "set-up" threads are a lot like that. It's always someone else's fault for just about everything.

I think I'm with cz & bc on this one. Complaining about a warning is bad for karma...

So take a brief moment of pause in between going across multiple lanes. Is the extra second or two really that much of an affront to your freedom? The law is there for a reason (probably because people were getting smeared by people doing it in traffic). And you didn't even get ticketed for it, which from a statie is a rare gift.

the track doesn't count and if your dirt bike doesn't hit the ground once in a while then you aren't doing it right
