I was wondering why it appeared to be a DNS issue this morning. just out of curiosity (and if you wish to say) why do you run your own DNS server? I know what I pay GoDaddy for 7 domains a year (registration and DNS, no hosting) I could not run a server for a month

Because there are other services that run on these servers, DNS is just a part of it.

It's mixed still. Some virtual, some bare metal. Not all the same physical location either for DR, just haven't finished the 'DR' part of that. :)

Its a full time job/hobby for me....I call it my "train set" so i sound somewhat normal when i am working on a new design ("I am out working on my train set")....better than trying to explain what a virtual infrastructure is....
