Has anyone ever done Cotton Wood on a sport bike? How was it?

Beautiful scenery, San Isabel and Gunnison National Forests on either side, last time I went the road was in good shape.

I have ridden it but dirt roads don't bother me. The Buena Vista side is older pavement, the Taylor Park side is smooth packed dirt.

It's pretty smooth, shouldn't have any issues. I really like the road on the west side of the pass from Taylor Park to Almont. Nice road.

Yeah I ride from Gunnison up Taylor Canyon Road frequently but have never been ballsy enough to go over Cotton Wood. I'm going to go for it this weekend though any advice?

That's fitting it looks like it could be filmed on top of Cottonwood.

I suspect it's no problems in the dry, but could get slippery if it rains.

Beautul route. The view looking out over Taylor Park is awesome. One of my favorites. Highly recommend it. As others have said the dirts not that bad

I'm up there every summer, never on a sportbike though. As long as you don't mind packed dirt with occasional loose gravel on top you should be golden.

There is a good bit of road construction between Almont and Taylor Reservoir. The road is torn down to dirt for a couple miles.
