Hi CSC'rs,

I need to get some popcorn removed from my ceilings, no need to re-texture, just orange peel white. See picture below and provide me a cost.

Bedroom 4 - This is not the actual room, just a sample, about the same size (but it is an office off family room)

The four bedroom are pretty small - 10'x12' The Family room is good size (lower level-low ceiling). The Kitchen-Living is the largest room with a vaulted ceiling (13'-15' high) and there is a skylight with popcorn inside also. There is a hallway on the upper level and the lower level that has popcorn. All bathroom have already been remodeled, so there is no popcorn there.

Please take an look and let me know what you would charge to scrape off the popcorn and just paint ceiling white (orange peel). I don't want to have the ceiling textured.

If you would please give me a cost to do the Living & Kitchen (first two pitures) that would be great.

Also provide me a cost to do the whole thing in one lump.

Just FYI, after you scrape that coustic texture off, I know you just want to paint but for it to look right, you will have to skim coat the whole ceiling to smooth it out, then paint. Even to shoot an orange peel texture, you will have to do some joint mudding. The reason they use that coustic (popcorn) texture is to save time with mudding the joints. Remove it, and you have to work the joints again. Good luck. That's a really nice house. It's going to get VERY messy unless whoever you find to do the work is EXTREAMLY diligent with drop cloths and masking off everything so make very sure to check a bunch of refferences!
