Just went surfing here in Washington for my buddies bachelor party... Man it's tough. A lot tougher than what it looks like that's for sure. I rode 1 good wave but never stood up on it... It was a windy day and my arms were so shot from paddling. Fun though. Surfing would be awesome if it weren't for wondering what's swimming under you.

That is the one thing I really miss since moving from the ocean to the mountains is Surfing. What a great sport. Been doing it since I was a young kid. My consolation is I surf(snowboard) the mountains out here. I still have a couple of surfboards sitting in my basement just in case I can sneak in a surf trip in.
I've surfed both coasts, Hawaii, and some pacific islands. Great fun!

Definitely miss the everlasting waist to shoulder high swells along along Malibu beach. But rather have 8 ski resorts in less than a 2 hour drive anyday.

Keystone and Breck open in less than 100 days!!!

Big boards tire me out. Paddling sucks. And yes I agree about underneath .

I've done windsurfing, but never just surfing, prefer diving or jetskiing if I'm going to be in water.

I'll have to give that a try! I have actually surfed The Eisbach in Munich. Pretty cool stuff.

I can relate. I grew up in Santa Monica and later, Santa Cruz. We get to Hawaii now and again and I spend a couple days on a longboard.
