clutch cable adj 2kgsxr750

reference 2K gsxr750:
i installed a new clutch cable. there are indications the clutch is ever so slightly engaged when the lever is depressed fully. the lever has the correct amount of play when at rest. the clutch disengages when the lever is 80% in. the bike has 37Kmiles on it.

best place to adjust, at the lever or at the engine? if at the engine do i turn the cable assembly stem into the engine or out?

overall for a gixxer have i adj the clutch cable ok, what method do you use?

If it's new, adjust at the engine and leave room for the lever adjustment later.
