sup? long time no see!

I have spent over a thousand dollars on gear in the past month trying to find something i like and that will fit, frankly im getting tired of the whole, pay for it, wait for it to be delivered, try it on and ship it back. My ballistic 5.0 pants finally gave out after being in service for about 5 years, so at the very least I need pants.

direction: Dual sport/Adventure touring... I like the olympia phantom, but the largest size is too small. I also like the first gear kathmandu 2 piece but the 46 pant drags the ground (31" inseam, my ass), and the jacket i need isnt available till november, but why buy the jacket if the pants dont fit?

Anyway, I'm definitely looking for something I'll be comfy in riding in the wintertime, as well as being easy to get in and out of... So is there anywhere in the denver area that will have bigger sizes? Pants are on the top of my priority list and I'd like to put my hands on a joe rocket ballistic 7.0 to see if i like them as much as my 5.0 if I cant find a suit.

I'm taking off this afternoon to head up there, so I'm looking forward to your speedy responses! thanks.

my guess is one of the larger Harley stores may have what you seek.

Coming up from the south, I'd go this route. Start North and work your way south

Let it Ride --> MotoGear Outlet --> Performance --> Grand Prix --> Fay's

I think your best bet will be MotoGear, they have a ton of inventory and a lot of ADV type gear.

sure, touring/adventure touring gear. Not all those guys run around in chaps and vests. Many seem to be "larger". And those stores carry a lot of inventory. Can't hurt to stop in and take a look.

No disrespect man, saying this because I am a health nut and believe in the benefits.

Wouldn’t it be easier to drop some weight instead? In the long run I feel it would save you money and hassle; gear and health wise. :dunno:

P.S. If this is offensive in any way just say the word and I will never bring it up again. J

Or are you just a really tall guy and I read it wrong?

im not fat, im thick skinned. Good for you for being a health nut. for those that arent, losing weight is easy, keeping it off is the real struggle. I'm tipping the scales at 300, up from 260 a couple years ago. But that being said, i need pants now, and losing weight takes a bit longer than now. So No, it would not be easier... lol

That can be the difference of how hard it is. Again no direpect intended...

The only other thing I can think of is to get the gear altered. I know there have been some threads on recommendations of places that can do it. http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=39654&highlight=leather+alterations

The ins and outs are easy.... stop shoving food in your face. i know exactly what needs to be done, and when i stop doing it, especially late at night, i tend to lose weight/keep it off. Alas, I am weak.

yeah, i thought about that with the firstgear suit, but it had velcro at the bottom, looked like a PITA and the last thing i want to do is pay a big bill at the alterations place after i just dumped 600 on new gear, but that may, too be an ultimate route.

Hey just a simple video here about our pant stock. Nobody in this state has the pant selection that we do- with several hundred to choose from. Thanks for your support, Don

Well I was able to hit the top 3 on the list, and customer service was about as good as they could be at let it ride and performance, they just didnt carry anything for me. Ive noticed shops have about 20 times the amount of jackets as they do pants, not counting the dirt gear.

Motogear outlet had AMAZING customer service, and carried First Gear as well, which does go up to my size, and actually had an HT overpant shell that fit me in 44, but was a bit snug so If I go that route, I think im going to order the 46 from them in the whole package so I get a liner as well. Funny thing about the first gear is the differences in length between their pants. the HT shell shouldve had the same inseam as the kathmandu suit i ordered, but the HT shell did not drag the ground.

I may head back up there to hit the two places I didnt get to, I'm still looking to at least put my hands on the ballistic 7.0 pants, as the pants that lasted for 6 years were the ballistic 5.0.

thanks again to all for the help!

I work in the industry and can explain that, it is simply dictated by sales. You sell 20 times as many jackets as you do pants. New riders almost never buy pants and even among riders who do wear riding pants the majority (myself included) only wear them on canyon rides and just wear jeans on the commute. This means you wear out and have to replace jackets at about a 10 to 1 ratio over pants.

I know the only pants I would have in your size is rain pants but I have plenty of jackets in your size
