Looks like this is going to be my last weekend in Colorado, and before I go I wanted to go on one last ride with some of the CSC folks. I'm being PCS'd from Fort Carson at the end of the month to go Recruiting outside of Philadelphia on the PA side.

Anyway, I've been wanting to do a Bishop's Castle run, or part of Highway 50 towards Salida and possibly swing around back up north. I wouldn't mind a linkup in the Springs, but as I currently live in Pueblo I really don't feel like burning an entire tank of gas before sunrise to link up in Denver.

As of right now, route is to be determined, I've honestly never ridden Bishop's or too much down south, so I'm open to suggestions. If nothing else I'm thinking 50 to Salida, then South to Bishop's and then finding another route back up north, probably with a start/finish around Pueblo or Canon City.

Date is also TBD. I have a 4 day weekend coming up, but I understand many of you don't and can't make Friday or Monday, but like I said I'm up for suggestions.

This will be an experienced ride, noobs are welcome if we can get a leader for that group, but I doubt this ride will get a lot of participation.

//DISCLAIMER//
Gear is at your own discretion, but I will be riding in full leathers, and I like to go fast. Also, you won't be allowed to join the group if you don't have LICENSE PLATES. I'm not going to check registration or insurance, but if you don't have plates don't even bother showing up. (Paper plates are obviously valid). I have a Bus Drivers License and am not afraid to use it. If you want to ride like an ass, go right ahead (like I said, I like to ride fast), but if the 5-0 comes looking for you and you run, expect to be thrown under said bus.

We were planning to do some of that very same ride but with lows at 27F and highs only at 37F, and a 30% chance of snow,,,, not likely.

Im thinking the same thing. I would set the time back so you can gauge the weather. Im thinking about going but i dont think the weather is gonna hold for us.

cold roads and all the wet leaves that will be falling the rest of the week. It sounds like a dangerous weekend to ride. I'm really bummed because all I've been looking forward to all week was shredding on Saturday. Maybe the low temps will keep a few of the cagers in and some mid-day riding would be in order:)

I would love to join you guys (As I'm in Pueblo), but can't. First off, I don't like riding fast. And I definitely can't ride fast. That, and my agency is having a "Shield of Faith" motorcycle run that day. It's basically a Harley Davidson ride to benefit the Chaplain's that help us in so many ways. So although this is a long, boring, painful ride, it's for a great cause so I never miss it.

It should be noted however, there are 3 gas stations off Hwy 50/I25. One is on the southeast corner of 50 and Elizabeth, the other at the northwest corner, and then a block west of I25 is a Loaf & Jug (Although it's technically at Club Manor and 50).

Have fun and be careful!

Ugh, didn't think the cold was coming on so fast. :(

Might have to be an afternoon ride, weather permitting, and maybe have to back it down to just fast from fast. :lol:

I was actually putting on a few new parts tonight (Puig windscreen, Yoshi FE kit, Woodcraft case sliders, pics to come) when out of nowhere the temperature drops and hurricane force winds start blowing all my packaging and instructions away. Still can't find one of my allen wrenches. :(

I'm checking the weather now. Will shift left/right as needed.

Thanks for the good words everyone.

At this point, I think I'm just going to see what the weather looks like Saturday, and if it looks OK I'm thinking a noonish linkup/start time. If not, I'll do the same Sunday, and if not then I'll just go riding with TransNone13 on Monday when it gets up to 75. :nod:

Weather.com said 30% chance. I'm sure we all know how Colorado is during the winter. ;)
