At least they actually provide solid performance upgrades and add useful features unlike Apple. Getting ready for Apple fanboy attack in 3..2..1..

From GoPro FAQ section:

How much recording time do you get?
Recording time will vary according to the resolution setting used and the card capacity. Here are the average recording storage times for a 32GB SD card: 1080p (30 fps): 4h 21m 960p (30 fps): 5h 26m 720p (60 fps): 4h 21 720p (30 fps): 8h 09m WVGA (60 fps): 8h 09m

If anyone is looking to upgrade but wants to get rid of the old stuff, I would be interested.

Damn, these look great. I will likely post up my GoPro 2 with battery backpack, lcd, and wifi controller if they aren't compatible.

EDIT, it doesn't look like they are.

A 16GB card is more then enough video to mess with editing. One issue with these toys, you end up with a back log of video and its a pain in the butt. what I like is the extended battery pac a must have.

Every fall there is a new GoPro, not sure how anyone is surprised. I have been waiting for this to come out after I broke my HeroHD and didnt want to buy a Hero2.

Might just have to get one, kind of glad now I didn't upgrade to the Hero 2. While not opposed to future proofing etc, I do wonder about the >1080p (4k) etc. I usually already just record in 720, don't see a need for higher, easier to edit, smaller etc. I wonder what a 4k file will look like in terms of size.

I love my Gopro(s) and they are definitely the best cam on the market but I really wish they would change the form factor of the camera. And maybe make a "weather resistant" model for those that don't need a full under water cam. And also improve the microphone.

So - I have a question about these things: What are the mounting options for a GoPro?
I've seen videos that were clearly on the helmet (which seems very logical if you want to show how a rider is constantly looking around / aware of the surroundings), but what about mounting ON the bike for that perspective? Is on the front of the cowling possible? Or is on the dash / through the windshield the primary mount point?

Just think of it this way....if you want to mount it somewhere, there's a bracket for it out there.

I've seen these things mounted anywhere. Had one mounted to the swing arm looking backwards. One attached to the frame slider. It's all in what view you want to see.

Just about anywhere, depending on vibration and how you want it to look.

Mount on front, at base of the windscreen:

I've also used a cheap pencil cam facing backwards, but will most likely get another GoPro
