Reading in the forums I didn't find recent posts so I apologize if I missed something. I found a locked thread on best practices.
Clearly a garage is best to prevent theft. Checking on the web for my $.02 it seems like Almax makes the best chains and locks http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/ but these things are produced in UK and they are expensive. Tracking devices for recovery aren't preventative but may help. Anyone had any experience with Tramigo T22 http://www.tramigo.net/ which seems better than Lojack IMHO but again isn't cheap and you have to pay for the SMS messaging. Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.

I heard of something from a buddy called roadloc for bikes. I haven't had time to check it out yet.

ANAL

Haha, it's ammonia nitrite mixed with aluminum. A favorite among IED makers.

With regards to your garage door: Cut the little red knob off of the little red rope. It is the emergency manual garage door opener. With a simple pry tool and a coathanger thieves can get your garage door opened in seconds. They pry the top of the door open just enough to get the hanger around the red knob and can pull the door open with ease.

What does that have to do with motorcycle theft? And ya, lets put a machine that beeps every 5 min that you have to blow into or the car shuts off in every vehicle, because people are already good enough drivers that they can handle another distraction... If they did that I can only imagine our board would be cut in half member wise because we would all be killed on our motorcycles by retarded drivers.
