Any pit suggestions for new guys? Is it more cost effective to find a couple guys to pitch on a garage space all weekend or get equipment to set up an area yourself? Tips/advice?

1) Go to lapping days and make some friends.

2) Rent a garage space, then post up that you're looking for partners at $XX a spot - you'll get plenty of takers.

Those are the two best ways I know of. The MRA is one of the most welcoming communities of people you'll find anywhere.

Welcome to the addiction.

Diz, you are that guy on the silver 2nd gen r6 that has done some superstreets, right? I would be down to share some garage space or pit with ya.

There are no car ports/garages @ Pueblo and in the busy times the car ports @ HPR can fill up so it is a good idea to be able to pit in the wilderness. :)

Yea, we've met a couple times. That sounds good. If we can get 1 or 2 more guys that are serious, we can start figuring out stuff for next season.

Thanks for the info guys. Are there designated camping areas or can you just put up a tent wherever?

RV spots and carports are reservation, everything else is first come first served.

Keep your eyes out for an EZ-Up. If you don't end up in a garage / carport, you'll want want one. I've gotten one of the 8'x8' ones on sale for around $50. Shade is your friend at the track! Just beware you NEED to tie it down - do get some tie downs and plan to have something to anchor it to.

We pit in the "wilderness" (as Bueller put it). HPR and Pueblo, put up the tent and just sleep there. One of the guy in our group throws his stuff in the bed of his truck.

We generally line up and place the canopies together for optimal shade.

If you're interested in the wilderness, a new face will not be turned away.

It's really nice to have others around when stuff breaks too!

Thanks everyone. I'll keep all of this in mind.

Thanks for the offer. I may have to take you up on it, especially at Pueblo.
