I am looking into replacing the stock muffler (heavy, too quiet) that came with my bike. Don't know much about after-market slip-ons and wanted some suggestions on which manufacturers are reputable and don't make crap. Looks and noise (I like loud pipes) are important factors I am considering, not to mention the added hp boost! Anyone have any good/bad stories to share?

D&D's are loud as hell. Don't know if they make one for your bike, though.

I choose to stay with the stock can because it provides a 'stealth' approach    loud cans get the attention of your friends AND law enforcement types :D :D :D

The Parts 411 mailorder website has an extensive colletion of cans for various bikes. the next best choice would be to search the websites for each of the manufactures. (Parts 411 is the qick-n-dirty solution)

That's a hard coice. There's been a lot of times when I'm kickin' it in the ass (As a matter of fact I hear a bike shootin' up Hamden as I'm typing this) and come up on a stop, turn the corner and there's a cop! But, loud is sooooo coooool 8) Actually, I just like how it sounds when starting the bike. After that I couldn't care less.

D&D are VERY loud especially on Triumphs. 2Bros and Devil are pretty loud to. The Devils are raspy and sound great. 2Bros is a bit more throaty but get loud in the high RPM's.

Thanks for the input. I have heard D&D on a Suzuki 750 and it sounds good. I guess I will have to decide which can I want and then contact the manufacturer direct to see of they have something that will fit my bike. Too bad there isn't a web site out there that has different wav files with each type of can on each type of bike so you can actually hear what sounds good (i know...i'm dreamin' but it would be pretty kick-ass).

They may not have your exact bike, but you should be able to get an idea of what it will sound like.

Here are a couple I found:
Two Brothers (for the Daytona) (http://www.twobros.com/Cust_Service/Sound_Clips/Tri_Daytona-TBR.wav)
D&D (for a Suzuki SV1000) (http://www.danddexhaust.com/SV1000SO.MPG)

I also checked Ti-Force, Vance & Hines, D&D, and Micron, but they either don't have anything for Triumphs, or they don't seem to have any sound clips.

I saw a Sprint going up North Washington a few weeks back with a set of D&D's on it. Sounded like total crap IMO, but it was certainly louder than hell. I also saw a TT-600 with a D&D going along 104th. It souded slightly better than the Sprint, but it still was shrill and annoying.

My suggestion is to contact Brian at http://www.hammythecanman.com and see what he has to offer. I would imagine that Blueflame makes a pipe for your bike, and I have read a lot of positive feedback about them. If I keep riding on the street, I will probably get the Blueflame highmount for my R6.

Have you tried Micron? http://www.micron-exhaust.com/store/photos.htm

I love my High Mount that I got from them....

I have Yoshuimura on my TL1000S. They give it a deep, low rumble that sounds sweet. They look good too.

I agree D&D are just annoying loud plus they do not make great horsepower gains. If your into noise and want good gains try a M4. They do make a slip-on for the 955. I am not a Triumph expert. I could call and see if it would work on a 955i. Not sure if they are that different, if at all besides fuel injection. Price ranges from $329 to 455. It all depends on what type of can you want and standard or high mount.

Micron is another good pipe to go with. They are not as loud but have good gains. Also Arrow exhaust but they are a little pricy.

I'm sure there are other good pipes out there. These are ones I have experince with and know that they make the power they claim or at least close.

I sent e-mails to the following companies: Micron, D&D, Devil, and one other I can't seem to recall right now. Only heard back from Micron - they do not make a can to fit my bike . . . told me to check back in the spring  . Never heard of M4, but will check out on the web ASAP. I like loud, but crappy loud isn't any good. Thanks for all the great comments.

Arguably one of the best pipes for Tri's. Erico can get them, I believe...

Found one more - Scorpion - saw an ad with a Triumph in Sport Biker today.

Here's there website:

And here's their sound page (they don't have a 955i, but they do have a TT600):

Spiderman - I appreciate all your help. I was able to get a good look at Two Bros. site today. Awesome. They seem to have a lot of options for Triumph's. I even saw pics of high mount vs. standard, specs, prices, etc. And it sounded good also. Deeper sound than the Scorpion, I think. "Deep and Throaty" is how they put it. :boobies: :hump: :makeout: :headbang:

Think Jardine makes a high mount, but I only see it in street baffle. Only $250 too. Sounds great in my opinion. Deep low rumble at idle, maintains an idle at higher Rpms but not noisey, but that's RACE version, never delt with the street baffle. I see 02 Daytona but not 955i in application and Triumphs aren't my strong points, so is there only one Daytona for 02?

Nope. The 600 is also referred to as "daytona". Thanks for the Jardine tip. I have heard one on a Honda CBR600RR, and it sounds SWEEEEEEEEEET.

:pointlaugh: You be guessin' WRONG! Just so happens I was in the right place at the right time kind of thing. Got a HELLUVA deal on my bike. Nope, I'm just a poor hard-working chump like everyone else I know. Best price I have found for a manufacturer who makes cans for my bike is Jardine - $345 for a high-mount.

Congrats on the pipe, glad to be of help. I personally love the Jardine sound, but I run a Leo Vinci instead. But for the price, quality and sound, you can't beat it! Well you can beat it, grind it into the asphalt, but cheap to replace!

I really like my Arrow stuff. Had a slip on, but now have the full 2 into 2 superbike exhaust. Very impressed. And it's cool because you don't see them very often- except on WSS bikes => where they need the fastest bike possible!

I see some of those odd ball arrow creations every once in a while. I think they need a bit more research before they market those things though, well referring to my friends, arrow full system that goes to 2 dual carbon pipes. The mid pipe that runs out the left side to the pipe is so close to the chain that whenever you extend the suspension and or get on the gas hard, causes the chain on the bottom of the swingarm to start sawing away on the pipe!
