Is anyone excited about the upcoming season?? As long as it doesn't turn into a battle of attrition this could be a great year. Everybody is healthy and there is new blood that is already competitive. Justin Barcia proved at the Monster Cup that he can run with the big boys. I cant forecast a champion yet, there are just too many good riders.

My only issue is that with 10 rounds being broadcast live I wont have too many free Saturdays for a while... :)

Yes, I'm stoked and will be here for round 2. Hoping to rent two wheels while there and ride in 75 and sunny.

I was there a few years ago, be prepared for a few looks when you are enjoying the beautiful 65 degree evening in a t-shirt and the locals are all huddled in their down jackets...

I will be trying to make SLC thi syear

This season should be great. Cant wait for it to start. I rode the 800GS out last year to spend two weeks in Cali and rode up to the Oakland race and then tooled around PCH and other parts of SoCal.

Will head out again this year if sequestration and fiscal cliff hit the DoD contractor business and I am told to pack my shit.

Thats what i want to do one year, just a little earlier. I will haul the bike as I dont trust getting out of Colorado in January but I will catch Anaheim 1, ride California for a week and come back by way of Phoenix

Yeah, I pretty much froze my ass off on the way out until I hit the Mojave. Then coming home from T or C and over Raton was the suck.

My buddies wondered why I thought it was a good idea to ride a motorcycle out of the Rockies in the middle of winter....

The races are an awesome time though! And my bike did not get stolen from the hotel in Oakland. Life is good.

Great race. Pretty wild how it all turned out in the end.....not what most expected to happen with the final results. One of the many reasons I love watching SX. Here we go!

Yeah, no kidding. I hope Stewart and RV are not too banged up.

Finished watching last night, that was a great race! Never expected a Millsaps win, and was impressed with how well Canard did after last years injury and how well Barcia did. Both staying ahead of all the established stars - Villopoto, Dungey, Reed I never expected a good showing from Stewart but I really hope Villopoto recovers quickly

+1 on Millsaps and Canard. Those guys must have had a great offseasons to up their game like that. But if I had to call the early season favorite, it has to be Dungey. That dude is riding super smooth. Plus that KTM is the tits!

You guys know anyone in the Phx area that could use a free ticket to the race on Saturday night?

I hope you found someone for your spare ticket, that was a great race! Tomac is proving to be the man to beat in Lites, and can you believe that performance by Barcia! I cant explain why, but from his first pro year I had a felling Justin was going to be somebody to watch. With maturity he is outgrowing his BamBam nickname and is definitely turning in the results.

Unfortunately the next two weeks are not live on TV so I have to stay away from the internet

Nope, I couldn't find anyone to get my ticket to in time for the race. I didn't go either as I changed my plans to attend the Vegas race in May. Barcia looks strong and so does Canard. Strange to see James and RV 18 points down on current leader Millsaps.

Kevin Windham retires? He is a legend of the sport that's for sure.

"It probably seems quick and abrupt," the Honda racer said. "But it's something I have been contemplating since my big crash (last March) in Houston.

"I would love nothing more than to ride forever. This might seem to be a hasty decision, but I've been talking to a lot of people for a lot of months. I thought I would be able to come into the season and ride myself out of that funk and that mental hurdle I was having to overcome. With every passing lap it became more and more difficult to ride with the clarity I needed to be safe, fast, and successful."

Check your DVR! At least on DirecTV there is a guide data error causing it to record the Sunday rebroadcast and ignore Saturdays live broadcast.

BTW, CBS is running a special program regarding RV at 10 AM on Sunday.

So you wanna be a SX/MX star making the big bucks? Tough business but I had no idea the struggles and family issues Villopoto has had throughout his career. I have thought that RV does not appear to be having as much fun as James, Dungey and the other top riders tho.

Few pics from the Vegas finale. I don't care much for the strip scene, so I drove out to Vegas Speedway on Sunday and did a NASCAR ride along. Wouldn't mind going back to do the driving deal.
