View Full Version : Jim @ TFOG Down

Jim went down yesterday.

Taken from another board.

Yesterday morning Jim got in an accident on the way to work. The brief details that I got were that a car pulled in front of him on I-70 then laid on the brakes, Jim tried to stop but ended up under the car.

I heard that he has a broken pelvis and some other injuries, but should recover fine.

If anybody on here has a bike in his shop right now, don't worry. Mike is taking care of things with the help of some of Jim's friends.

Heal up quick Jim, and may the schwartz be with you!

Im sure he will heal up well but a broken pelvis is no joke.

Jim is a good guy and I would support any effort to help in any way.

Jim is at Denver Health on Bannock. I believe he has a surgery scheduled today, so no word on visitors yet. Fred, Brandon and Scott were picking up his bike this morning.

Keep him in your thoughts and I would guess we'll have an update later today.

Very sorry to hear of your off. I guess that's why they say, "It's not if, it's when." Get well quickly and get back to your life. I always appreciate that when you participate on this forum, you add something positive when you add anything.

I need to replace the front tire on my 'hawk, so in a month or so, I'll expect to see you at the shop! :)

I am considering doing a BBQ benefit and silent auction with all proceeds going towards Jim's recovery and to help cover any expenses he will incur for not being in the shop.

Is this something you all would be interested in attending and donating for? I want to do this for Jim, but need to make sure the interest is there before I post it up!

As a person who has had a difficult injury with pelvic damage and a complete hip replacement, I feel for you Jim.
First and foremost, take your time healing up, and best wishes for a successful surgery.
Second, don't talk to any auto insurance people without consultation.
Third, I'm out of town but will be willing to help fund anything for Jim.
Just let me know what and where.
Best wishes Jim!

I'd be willing to help with a benefit any day.

I just got this update from Becka:

"He is still in the hospital but out of ICU. The second surgery did not go as well as we would have like. He will be in the hospital for at least a few more days."

I mentioned that there is an open discussion about doing a benefit. She said that Jim thinks that this is very nice of everyone and would be greatly appreciated.

Quick update: My wife, Teri and a couple others are getting some meals prepped for Becka, so she'll have less to deal with going back and forth. Got a great picture of a piece of his adipose tissue on the edge of the bike rack from picking his bike out of impound yesterday (size of your little finger tip). Bike is pretty well done for, and Jim is cranky (hungry, no food before surgery.)

More updates as things go on. Keep the positives heading his way.

Thanks to one and all, the outpouring of concern is a little overwhelming! I'm home resting uncomfortably on about a 6-7 inch gash in my right buttock(let the brain damage jokes begin), a chip fracture of a part of my pelvis that the docs say I really don't need, an apparent spleen laceration that nobody told me about until I got my discharge paperwork, and a new understanding about how health care works in the country. More on that later when I have the energy for a good rant...
