View Full Version : The weather guessers really got this one right, didn't they?

Four lows, two of which are located in the worst possible place (south central and south east Colorado).

A huge upslope spring storm like this and they had no idea until 9:00 p.m. MDT last night, when they rang my weather radio and banged out a warning.

Amazing. After being in my department for four years, I've not seen any improvement in their ability to determine what will happen even just a couple of days from now.

But then again, I'm just a geologist - not a fortune-teller. <snicker> :devious:

I hope its not three weeks before I'm on two wheels again!

Weather is like a woman, it has a mind of its and you never really know what the hell they are going to do....trying to guess what they are going to do is really an exercise in futility.

Trying to guess what the weather will be over such a large area is a crapshoot because weather is so localized, especially with snow. Out in this area (470 & Smoky Hill) they weren't too far off, we had quite a bit two weekends ago and a bunch so far today.

Over here in highlands ranch by work and by my house about 470 and bowles was kind of gnarly this morning. Wind is starting to pick up in this area pretty good and visibility is kind of bad right now. Wish they'd close this place down so I can stop by the store, rack up on snacks and then hit up the couch, watch some old moto gp races and movies

Doesn't seem that bad out there unless you're in that mess by Johnstown.

That's not what I heard, even on Thursday. They were saying "chance of rain Friday, some snow showers Saturday."

Nobody said Jack Squat about a blizzard.

haha nice. I never understood why milk and toilet paper flies off the shelves at the first sign of snow, I'd sure as shit go for the beer.

I'm glad I saved the Daytona 200 for a rainy day, that's all I've been doin for the last 2 hours

Seems like pretty much what nws said it would be when I checked last night. Was late to work though to many dumb asses out driving 2mph though. Don't work till 1130 though so it gave everyone more time to get out and be in the way. lol
