That whole section of 36th is very dangerous. No shoulders or room for error - concrete construction barriers effectively make the road a "chute". That, and irregular, choppy lanes with surprise kinks in the road. Best to avoid.

I was driving it the other day and was loving the pot holes as well. RIP rider. Sucks!

Looks like a speed triple?

Doesn't Darth have a silver speed triple?

RIP rider.

Okay, not Kyle (Darth). His speed triple was killed last summer or the summer before.

Those handles at the rear suggest Yamaha FZ to me...

Not an FZ. Tank is the biggest difference I can see.

Suzuki SV is my thought too

The handles on the rear seat aren't an SV's.

SV doesn't have a continuous, 2 passenger seat either.

Looks like an FZ6 (non-R)

After some googleing, it looks to be a 2001ish Yamaha FZ1

A FZ6 would have undertail exhaust if 2006 or later. Not sure about the earlier models.

At second look, it could be a Gen 1 FZ1. The Gen 1s had a single banana style seat. It has the correct rear passenger handles. Tank looks different though, I'm fairly certain the FZ1s had smooth tanks for all years, not the raised middle tank.

The story has been updated. It's a Yamaha FZ1, must be a first gen.

Broomfield police say a trooper spotted the a 31-year-old man driving a Yamaha FZ1 at a high rate of speed on Interstate 25 near 58th Avenue around 4:30 a.m. The motorcyclist continued onto westbound Highway 36 where the trooper attempted to pull the man over.
