The previous owner of my bike, had dropped it. So the fairing is cracked around the turn signal and there are a few pieces that broke off.

I've seen a few articles on how to fix cracks, but not how to replace missing pieces. Is that not possible?

i checked to see what a new side fairing cost.... 750.00 bucks! Found a couple places online and they want 575.00.... So I'm willing to try to repair it....

any help would be appreciated!

I've done it several times and I think there's a link in my signature to a thread with lots of photos.

by the time you get time and paint into it - you're better off spending the $500 clams.

Plasti Dip is a good cheap way to paint. And you can pull it off!

Any chance I could ask you for the link to your specific write-up on the subject, please? Read through some of the posts in the thread in your sig. Scanned through the thread and I couldn't find it... BTW, nice documentation of what you did!

I bought a plastic welder off Fleabay and have repaired more than a few. To replace missing bits you need either an old busted fairing, or some sheet of the same type of plastic. Most Jap bikes are ABS, not sure on the Duc.
Somewhere on the inside of the fairing it will have a date and type cast in.
To plastic weld you use the proper filler stick that matches your material.

If it's factory color, Colorite paint has been a perfect match for the few I've done.

I had a 1 inch by 3-4 in long hole melted in my lower, along with multiple cracks.
You can't tell now unless you look at the backside.

That was it for that bike. This bike rebuild had a lot more info on the plastic repairs:
