Lets ride as a group and dominate the roads...are you feeling it. Lol

20 July at 9am, meet up in Morrison at gas station, ya that one. Do not have the route all planned but want to ride to Mt Evans. Yes there will be stops, well cause I will need gas and I am a woman who has to pee after stopping my scooter.

More details to come, advance notice given, guys kiss your wives or girlfriends, women well give the kiddos to your husbands and turn off your phones.

Safety First, proper gear required or go ride your 10 speed. I am just the poster so suggestions are an option, tomtom hopefully you can lead us, not into the cops again though.

Thanks, they feel threatened by a woman rider, then they should be. Lets see who shows up. It is all about the sport of riding together, reality is they don't have permission to ride, so they joke around.

Well.... Since they are destructing squaw pass road from evergreen that's probably the best way to get there anyway. Leaving it's easy to follow the detours but the other two wheelers are going to be out and about as well.
If we are going to slab it up that far why not go up Guanella pass (fresh pavement)? Just my $.02.

285 to Guanella to I70? Doesn't look like too bad of an option.

The 285 side is still dirt for a few miles.... But doable.

Rode it last weekend. From Gerogetown all the way to the top is fantastic new pavement. A little sand but otherwise wonderful. From the top headed towards Grant it stays very good until you get down towards the big meadow, then it is back to broken pavement. Not too bad but not too good. There is still about 3 miles of dirt on the Grant side and it is wash-boarded in places. There should be no problem riding it on a sport bike but it will be slow going down into Grant.

What the new pavement looks like.

If there is interest in PPIR, there is always the option to ride down to Deckers then over to Co Springs via 24. From there, people wanting to go to PPIR could split off and the rest could head back to Denver via I25 or back up 67.

Me and Subaru2Yamaha a few posts up ended up meeting at MOCO then running down to Deer Creek and then Turkey Creek and then saw some rain coming in so we didnt do Deckers (where I thought the original ride was set to go) and just did Indian Hills to Bear Creek. There was an event at Bandimere so it was stupid packed on Bear Creek and Morrison area and a cop set at the bottom by MOCO. A nice light ride.

As Sully said was there any one who attended and how was the route? Also WTF was up wit I70 being closed what was that all about?

Nolan
Mon Jul 22nd, 2013, 07:02 PM
Evans was closed.... Because of bicycle thing. Squaw pass is a dirt road halfway down .... I'm sure they might actually be paving from scratch. Morrison was a nightmare.

I'm not a good ride planner.

UHATEIT
Mon Jul 22nd, 2013, 07:16 PM
Well Morrison was a parking lot. We were sweating in the traffic thinking about lane splitting the town just to get through and figure the cops would understand. Indian Hills and Bear Creek were slow. But I did get to try Turkey Creek for the first time since I crashed on it. It has some decently sharp turns. And some decent gravel in that curve that I hit before. Still good to get out. Maybe this weekends rides will be better
