I know there are some dirty riders here and I just picked up a YZ250 that has its OHV tag, wondering where everyone likes to ride other than rampart? I live in Parker so I'm not terribly far from the mountains.

I did some riding over at Jefferson lake the other weekend which was a ton of fun but Its a little far.

There's a lot of jeep roads and a few trails above Central City... Good area for a quick day ride. Although it's getting a bit more crowded lately. We usually get up there by 8 and head back by noon, to avoid all the morons.

Don't bother with Central City unless you like to spend your time going slow and dodging idiots.(kinda like Rampart on the weekend) There are miles of jeep trails a few miles past Black Hawk, just off Hwy 119, that are less crowded. There are also a lot of trails on the south side of Idaho Springs. USGS topo maps can be your best source for finding trails to ride.

I would say this depends on 1) your definition of "trails", 2) what do you consider "local" and 3) what sort of riding you like to do. Jeep trails vs ATV trails vs motorcycle SingleTrack... etc. It's all here you just have to know where to go (and then how to find it ;) )

All three can be found close by at/near Rampart, Rainbow Falls (on the south end of Rampart) and the 717 area (North Divide system... W & SW of Rainbow Falls). As others have stated there's a lot of "stuff" (mostly jeep trails) up near Central City, Idaho Spgs and Winter Park. There's plenty of stuff up there for every level imo. Again, you just have to know where to go.

There's tons of riding all over CO. To me Colorado is "local"... so there's more to ride here than you'll ever be able to get around to riding :applause:

I also agree with getting some maps (and I still use a compass... lol). CO MVUM, Trails Illust, Latitude 40, etc...

Hit me up if you want any details...

Bro you need to ride some single track. You won't regret it.
