Any students who participated in this season's coaching sessions want to go for a ride? If you've had a close encounter with the pavement since then, you fail and have to take a remedial class! ;)

Come join Ann and myself for a day ride up to the high country. We'll hit a few passes and have lunch somewhere in Summit County. If you took one of the 4 sessions with me, Dirk or Cornfed or were a coach / sweep, you're welcome. (& significant others too). I'll give tips or observe if requested but not planning any formal instruction; just have a nice ride and carving some corners.

MoCo, KSU at 10am. Hoping the rain pattern ends by then and we get some fall colors. In case of rain or snow cancellation I will put it off to later.

I think the question is that I have is what route? A lot of good roads are ruined right now.

Well there are still some ways out of the front range that aren't washed away.

I am in aspen this weekend and 70 was fine, noticed as we got further west it seemed to be less wet...I am pretty sure I will be a for sure for next weekend. I am going to take independence pass back so I will update on those conditions Sunday evening.

Looks like we can still take Clear Creek out of town, worse case we can slab it up 70 or 285. Summit county seems to be unaffected, and the forecast looks good. The biggest problem I see could be threading our way through town to MoCo from any of the flood affected areas.

Sadly I'm going to miss this, I will be moving my network to our new building.

Have a fun and safe ride!

Independence pass was fine....didn't see any large gravel patches on the road...sides of the roads were fairly bad in some spots and I counted roughly 7 spots with either rocks or small gravel patches. Only one of those was in a bad spot (mid turn)...70 again was clear although it was raining and I couldn't really see much.

Once we cleared the Idaho Springs mess it was clear sailing. Aspens are starting to turn up at ABasin and Breck, I'd say maybe 20%. Still no colors over Kenosha; give it another couple of weeks till peak. All in all a great day for a ride. The S'Triples got a good workout, and we got some good patio time at the Kenosha Steakhouse. Thanks for coming along, Kyle, Ryan, Jeff and Nolan.

Great ride a well played out route that covered some great scenery. Got a tad nippy at the top of Loveland Pass otherwise perfect weather couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! Thanks for heading this I would easily do a ride like this again on that route.
