My truck is in the shop getting the tranny rebuilt, boy did I pick the wrong week to do that. So that's my excuse, what's yours? First time I've really ridden in any extensive rain and it hasn't actually been too bad. I am riding the dirt bike (KTM 450EXC) instead of the SV1000. I figured it is better suited to this type of stuff.

I work from home but I took the bike out and explored a little yesterday. I guess it never rains here so it makes sense, but traffic in general was struggling.

When it first starts raining, it's slick, but once all the crap gets washed off, you have a surprising amount of grip in the wet. It's really not that different from when it's dry except it's going to be much more difficult to catch a slide. The mental hesitation is a lot bigger than the actual danger. Only thing to really watch out for are metal things (manhole covers, cattle guards, etc). If you ever get the chance, do a track day in the rain; it's eye opening.

Me me me!

Why? Because I don't have a car. I saw someone yesterday morning on a bike going east on I-70, made me feel less... crazy. Or maybe less alone, rather.

Just rain is ok, the mist is a pain in the ass, and torrential downpours are horrible, that I've only dealt with once and not this week, thankfully. And the look on my managers face when I came into work yesterday morning absolutely drenched! I had my work clothes dry in my bag.

PSA: Turn on your goddamn lights. I've almost pulled out twice and then seeing a car emerge from the fog flying down the road. Seriously people?!

I bowed out on weds. Plus one on the mist. The rain isn't bad except the friggin traffic the 2 mph sucks ass.

Been in some rain in the past that I was worried about my helmet. I could feel some droplets coming thru . Especially visor area.

Have ridden my S1000RR in the rain the past 3 days, and will again tomorrow to go from Springs to Cheyenne WY! Also, who needs Rain or Sport modes? My traction control was in the race the entire ride!

I just drove a semi from Pueblo to Denver and saw a sign saying I-25 was closed from Denver north to WY... I would double check that to be sure and if so what parts.

Edit : "
SB I-25 is closed from Wyoming to Harmony Road and NB I-25 is closed from Harmony Road to CO Hwy. 14 due to flooding. I-70 is now open in both directions in Floyd Hill. Expect heavy traffic on WB I-70 in that area.
Reported Time: September 13th, 2013 at 7:32 PM "

I may have passed you, I just rode my bike from Pueblo to CO Springs haha. Of course you were doing under the speed limit, since I wasn't speeding of course.

I saw that, but thank you, I'm hoping it'll be open by tomorrow morning.

Yeah I was just looking at the closures , it's crazy how many there actually are right now , and some of my favorite riding spots are washed out now :(

Good luck with the trip to Cheyenne, right now it looks like the only way to get there would be I25 to US34 (Loveland exit), east to Greeley and then US85 north to Wyoming

I'm going to wait until I25 is opened again, it's still closed as of yet.

I 25 northbound is only closed for like a half mile in Fort Collins, so I'm going to head out in about an hour.
