It's nice to see a cbr300r, but if Honda really wants to compete with the ninja, put a nice canyon or track worthy suspension on it. Doesn't have to be Ohlins, but atleast something fully adjustable, and upside down forks. That would compliment the thumper nicely.

BMW S1000r NAKED? Want.

Check the headlight before you say that...ugh.

Ya that thing fell from the ugly tree and hit a few branches on the way down. I'm thinking 2014 might be the last year for the S1000RR, or it at least won't be updated for a while.

Seriously, that is terrible. Yay we can all have a soul-less super fast naked that looks like crap, if you have tiny wang syndrome the BMW is the bike for you, I am sure it will be the fastest. I will take the KTM any day of the week and twice on Sunday, I am sure the Ducati naked Panigale will be way better looking too.

Are they planning a naked Panigale?

Well, if by naked you mean "sans paint" then yes!

Yep, the question just becomes how they implement it, the tough decision for them comes on the style vs performance question. With a superbike like the Pani, S1000, RC8R you can cover ugly frames and engines with plastic and who cares. But on a naked it is all out there in the open for better or worse, I think the Italians know better than anyone that you must maintain style or the bike wont sell. My personal hope is that they use a trellis frame for the naked bike. For me the engine casing on the S1000 naked looks cheap and Suzuki like which is not what you want on a $17k bike, whereas the KTM is super mechanical, and looks more raw, on a naked that is appealing.

Honda decided to bring back the 800cc VFR. A few nice bits here and there, and a little weight lost but overall I'm not too impressed. Looks like no plans to bring it to the US, but the VFR sells much better in Europe so that's not too surprising. The dash looks pretty nice. Traction control and a quickshifter option puzzle me a bit for that bike. On a 130-140 HP V4 supersport that weighs about 100 lbs. less, sure. Come on Honda, give us a V4 supersport and get competitive in SBK again.

Apparently it landed in a pile of power robbing leaves at the bottom of the tree. Only 160bhp and 2 riding modes, plus it gained 5 pounds.

The lamest thing on the new VFR is that they are not bringing it here! I applaud the TC and quickshifter, I wholly think that anything which can make the act of riding a motorcycle should be encouraged. I am so impressed with the new Bosch system on the KTM 1190 Adventure! Prevents low-sides and the bike from standing up if you brake mid-corner. I am sure that there are plenty that will say "if you learn how to brake properly you dont need it" but lets have you come around a bend 100 times riding hard and encounter a deer or car stopped in the middle of the road and see how many times you go down without the system then see how we still feel.

Yea, been waiting on this for a while now, but like the last line of the article says.... Wait for the MSRP. If it price competes with any of the 300r's within $2k I'd be highly surprised. Doesn't mean I won't be picking one up though :)

I agree on traction control. It's nice but is it necessary for a sport touring bike? 1200Vfr maybe. Now what's up with the power? Sounds like it's making less than the 6gen but probably beefier in the middle?
I do love the quickshifter though! Dash looks awesome and so does overall paint, as usual honda awesome. LED lights, less weight. Lots of nice features.
I'm not a big fan of a long side exhaust blocking that beautiful swingarm.

I would love nothing more than to see the RC1000V concept become reality, and you really have to hand it to Jonathan Rea for the things he can do with the bike he has. If they give him an updated bike with a V4, all I can say is look out Sykes and Laverty! :D

No one thinks they need traction control, until you have it. It's saved my ass more than 3 times now, and that's because not a single one of those times I was expecting the rear end to slip on me. Not once was I even using half my bike's power. Now I don't think I would've gone down as I was prepared for it and have experienced it before, but still the DTC had everything sorted out before I had even realized what was happening.

KTM.. claimed dry weight of 306 Lbs :D
Ninja 250 (08+) = 333 Lbs

Much lighter than a ninja 300, but a 690 is only a few pounds heavier.
