Been thinking about a slot track for a while and yesterday it got a hold of me pretty good. I checked out what AFX had on their website and I saw this HUGE set, over 62 feet of track. I had no idea anyone made something that big. I called around town and one place actually had it. I've been playing with this stupid thing all night!!! Anyone into slot cars?

I love them - I have/had one but the cars got tore-up…regardless, if you want another set of track (free) let me know…you can straight up re-create the nurburgring...

Those cross sections are too accident prone, would never meet safety regulations. Haha just kidding, track looks sick I wish it could tell you their MPH.

Please install shelving and suspended spanners as necessary around your home, to make them run like I'm at FAO Schwarz. Thank you.

Run it through the vaults in the dinning and living room and then through the foyer for a' turn-around'. I'm hoping to get started this year. Been designing and planning in my head for years...

Slot cars don't really do it for me, but H.O. Trains, that's my weakness! Eventually I want to create and entire train yard/city in a bedroom, with tracks running all over the walls of the house, with bridges tunnels and everything. Trains are absolutely amazing, always been an interest of mine.

That looks like a cool set up. I bought a Carrera Set 5 yrs ago. Has a couple of loops. Cars are a bit squirrelly . Played with it with for 3-5 months. Sat inthe front room for months collecting dust. Novelty worn off . Box it. It had been in basemen t ever since. Key words. Novelty wears off.

I'm hoping to start building a train through my house this year. I'm torn on scale, though. HO packs more into a given space, but O would probably look cooler running through my vaulted ceilings.

Thought about N or Z to build an entire city in my basement without taking up the whole room, but the idea of it running through the house is probably cooler.

I haven't, I'll have to check it out next time I'm up there. HO is the most common, and therefore has the most availability, but part of the fun is building your own pieces anyway. HO will be cheaper, but would get hard to see if placed too high on the walls. Since I'd probably dedicate an entire bedroom to the yard, the around the house parts don't need huge visibility for me.

I feel your pain, I've refused to grow up too! We're part of a slot club based in Denver with basement tracks in Westminster, Bennett, Longmont, one in the works in Centennial and Palmer Lake (my house). There's also a track in Colpar Hobbies off of Havana. You can run there for free if you belong to a club like ours. We run 1/32 and 1/24 hardbodies with no magnets on Carrera track or on wood. The cars nowadays are gorgeous and run very well and their prices are quite reasonable. These are not your Daddies Strombecker or old Revell sets... We've a FB page here https://www.facebook.com/groups/213906931962423/ with a few photos and the occasional video. Our official site is here http://coslotcarclub.proboards.com/ We're always looking for new members and we're quite informal and are wiling to help as little or as much as needed. We've got loaners for you to try if you're on the fence. Contact me here or on the FB site.

I almost bought a Carrera yesterday, but decided to stay with HO. They're insanley fast and I can get a shit ton more in the same space. I'm getting pretty good with them after I switched to a Parma controller. Hookin' up the brakes tonight...
