Anyone else here stay up late for this? That was worth it imo, one of the coolest natural events I've witnessed. Did you get a front row view of this one Dirk?

No, I've seen so many lunar eclipses that it wasn't worth it to get up in the middle of the night. The eclipse I'm waiting on is the Aug 21, 2017 total solar eclipse:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_eclipse_of_August_21,_2017

It's been a long time since we had one visible from the US.

Didn't we have one of those back in 2011?

Not a total solar eclipse. The last total eclipse in the continental US was Mar 7, 1970. A total solar eclipse is a very different experience from a partial or annular one. If you haven't seen one, make sure you get in the path of totality for this one.

Since the longest duration is in KY, I say we slab it out there with bikes in tow to ride the Dragon and beyond for the event.
