No worries. Don't thank me yet we still gotta see if this thing can fly.

Is it possible to maybe find another location that doesn't have a cost, or are you set on Jeffco (Clement Park, I'm assuming?) Just curious ;)

Jmetz
Thu May 15th, 2014, 01:20 PM
Open to location. That's where it's always been so that's what I know. If you've got a good one throw it out. The only concern would be not having it avail on the date.

You just want it in Aurora, Sully ;)

There's a park in Aurora near Jewell and E470 which has a baseball diamond and a large covered area with tables. Any interest in a kickball game along with the cookout? If so, I could work with JMetz on getting some available dates, etc from the parks department. It is a family park, so that could put a damper on some spirited fun.

Edit - the bigger covered area is $175. Ouch.

I could possibly be convinced to use my place..... Assuming it's less than 50 people..... The old folks on either side of me may just be thrilled.
and I work Sundays. So Saturday whatever weekend.

Appreciate the offer Nolan but this is definitely a park event.

Cool thanks. Ok so I'm going to go ahead and call it August 3. Right now looking at Clement Park with a possible change of venue. If we keep it at Clement donations will be needed to secure a shelter and sooner then later.

Why dont you come to the newbie ride tomorrow at post up about collecting funds for the BBQ. I will be there and can also collect. Can you print out tentative flyers.

Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow. :(

Fri May 16th, 2014, 11:27 AM
If people who are planning to attend could throw a $5 spot to Jmetz's PayPal account, we could quickly get capital to secure both the deposit on the shelter (if we need to), but also get the groundwork laid for a proper picnic party (read: a keg of good beer!)

Post it up, Kyle!!

Done & done Kyle. Please confirm receipt if you'd like, and I'd venture to say post up a tally to see how we're stacking up. After missing last Summer's Q, we're due for a good one!

Jmetz
Fri May 16th, 2014, 09:01 PM
Thanks John! Let me know the outcome so we can figure things out.

I'll look at putting a date change to a vote. The substitute dates would be 7-27.

Thanks John! Let me know the outcome so we can figure things out.

8-10 will be nixed by a lot of people... MRA round 5.

FZRguy
Mon May 19th, 2014, 06:23 PM
Alrighty, the paypal deal is now the beer fund. Don at Performance Cycle has agreed to pay for the shelter cost. I think he prefers to send a check directly to Jeffco or whatever entity manages the park. Josh, can you send me a link for reservations and payment? This means we need to get the date nailed down soon.

Jmetz
Mon May 19th, 2014, 06:54 PM
Cool. The shelter has to be done in person by a Jeffco resident though.

FZRguy

It won't be a Saturday. It's either 7-27 or 8-3.

~Barn~
Mon May 19th, 2014, 10:45 PM
Not to suggest that we'll need to maybe dip into the beer hat, but hopefully we can really start getting some traction behind the funding for this, from CSC'ers.

Unless we can get some solid commitments from folks to bring items in "Costco" type bulk, you may have to use about 40-45% right off the top of your collection total to go towards food and picnic staples:
Cheese slices
Ground beef
Hotdogs
Hamburger and Hotdog buns
Ice & paperware
etc...

To that end, I propose the following challenge to the CSC... Whatever we can raise in donations to the PayPal account, by midnight on Wednesday (Mountain Time), I will match 50%. Josh can keep the tally going - if he wants - or just go vague and tell us "donation received" or something like that. Basically that's the next 49 hours!

I probably don't know what I'm getting into, but since we're sub-$40 right now, I feel I may be relatively safe... But yeah, if we can get that total up to $100, I'll kick-in another $50; We make it look like $300, and.. well... you get the idea.

Starting.......

NOW.

Jmetz
Mon May 19th, 2014, 11:04 PM
I said I'd cover hot dogs, hot dog buns, some condiments and ice for those. I'm guessing that to run about $125. So I'm throwing $125 in the pot. :D

Edit to add: I'll keep the totals in the first post.

July gets another vote here

~Barn~
Tue May 20th, 2014, 02:35 PM
So just to be clear here, my 50% match is intended to be that of whatever the total collected donations are from CSC'ers (via the PayPal link) when the clock strikes midnight tomorrow. At the time I offered this, I think we were at about $38.45 for a running donation total, and according to post #1, the current RDT is $238.45.

Hence if I were to make the match now, it would be $119.23 [rounded up].

I rode to the park office today between storms and filled out the paperwork for July 27. Don is off on Wed's so he will probably get the check mailed off on Thursday or Friday. Couple things on rules and regs I noticed. No glass of any kind allowed, cans, kegs, plastic all good. No vehicles on the grass for unloading, loading or general hooliganism. Not a word on there about pit bike races tho. ;)
