So I posted earlier that I need to adjust my chain, well that kinda came to a head today as on my way I noticed that if felt like the chain was slipping quite a bit on acceleration and deceleration so I called Fort Collins Motorsports when they opened this morning and they got me an appointment for lunch time and got the chain adjusted and lubed(still need to replace but at least this will get me by until then) in under 30 minutes! Thanks to all for the advice and offers for help.

That's great. I bought my bike from a guy in Ft. Collins, and he had done all of his service there. I stopped by and they were able to print out the service records for the prior few years. Seemed like good people.

If your chain is slipping under acceleration either:

1. You have worn the teeth off of your sprocket.
or
2. Your clutch is slipping.

If your chain and sprockets are so bad they slip you need to stop riding it. I doubt they would even touch it if it was that bad.

The chain was just really stretched. They took out a link or two to tighten and told me what I already knew...replace chain and sprockets ASAP.

I've gotta see a picture of the sprockets. I have seen them so bad they looked like wave rotors, but there's no way it still has teeth and slips.

I'm really surprised that they would take like out of a severally worn chain, sounds like a safety issue that I wouldn't want on my books or my conscious.
