Can anyone recommend a person/shop that can straighten an aluminum frame? The rear subframe for an RG500 is slightly bent, off by maybe an inch. I have another RG500 frame to compare with.

Thanks!

Don't quote me but I'm not sure you can straighten aluminum.

I'd be pretty worried about it stress cracking and then being a weak failure point.

Aluminum doesn't like being worked.

nah, you just need a really big oven... I however do know of such a place. You might want to call Scott at MotoGarage, or Jim at TFOG he might know of somebody...

Jim at Racers Edge in Lakewood is another possible repair source. 303-986-2107

I've seen some pretty mangled aluminum wheels that you would think could never be straightened, but they do it, somehow. Kim taco'd her R6's front wheel and Woody's made it perfect, again. I've seen car wheels practically folded in half and CD Wheel makes them perfect. They won't tell you exactly how they do it, though.

You can work any metal if you heat it properly. The crystals realign and the stress is relieved.

There used to be a guy(Tony?)down in Englewood, I had him straighten an R1 that went into a curb at about a 70 degree angle. Cycleworks, 720-232-0998 was the last contact info I had. We last used them in 2005, so that info might be out of date.

He's still around and working out of his shop at Santa Fe and Union - http://www.cycleworksusa.net/

you sure know how to pick an expensive frame to try and get straightened.
