Question for anyone here who has dealt with Motorado, what's your selling experience been like with them and did your bike sell quick/for what you wanted too?

I've used motorado a couple of times, and both times were amazing, sold quickly and got what I wanted out of it. I tried selling the first one myself for like a month, after I gave it to him, it sold in less than a week, that was when he very first opened.

I would say Ron, the guy who owns the place, is one of the most if not the most upstanding person I've ever dealt with in the motorcycle world, in fact anywhere. If I ever sell another motorcycle in Colorado, or near, it will be through him.

I sold my SV650 through motorado and they sold that thing super fast. Less than a week. I got a great price out of it, basically what I was asking for. They will do the price negotiation for you if you give them a range to work with. They also deal with the financing which makes it super nice for those who cannot afford it at the time. Unlike on CL where you might get some kid not having enough cash and needing you to go to the bank with him to sign the title over for the loan. Another good thing for the SELLER is that the buyers are not allowed to ride the bikes around. So someone who wants it knows what they are buying and actually wants to get the bike and doesn't have to ride it around to criticize you for anything they dislike. Prevents drops like you could have on CL if someone doesn't know how to ride.

When my bike was there they took care of calling the former title/loan carrier and addressing getting the title for me as well so I did not have to pay off the loan or go to the bank to do it and secure the title, they got it all for the new owner right there. Their fee is $500 for their services to sell the bike, at least that's what it was in June 2014 when I sold mine. Which is well worth it for all of the hassle that goes along with selling a bike and avoiding someone riding and dropping it, getting the title and loan taken care of on both ends. I also got more than I imagine someone would have offered had they showed up off CL and tried to lowball me.

I liked the experience enough I recommended 3 of my friends there who have also sold their bikes as well and gotten great feedback from them as well.

Did you have to pay the $500 up front or do they take it out when the bike sells?

When the bike sells, at least that's the way it was.

Cool man, thanks for the replies guys. Going to hit them up in the upcoming week or so. There's a good chance I'll move out of state so need to free up as much cash as I can. I had posted the bike on CL last year with nothing but low ballers and assholes. Bike needs nothing, all major maintenance done and they still would try to low ball me by a mile. I can't put up with those fucks, my time is money lol

Do they price it at your asking price and then add $500 or take the $500 from your asking price?

They ask "what do you need to get out of the bike", then they advertise for at least 500 over that.

In my case, they advertised $800 over what I wanted, sold for exactly that, then I got what I wanted plus a couple hundred extra and they took the rest. I think he said the max they make is $700. No tricks or nonsense. Ron understands the industry and numbers very well.

edit: I think that's for bikes valued over 10 grand. I think they take less for bikes worth less.

They take the $500 out when it sells. They told me it is 10% of the sale price or $500 max so if a bike is $10K they don't take $1000 off of it, they just take a max of $500.

I sold my 2011 zx10r through them and it sold quickly. They seem to get a good amount of traffic through there. Ron was great to deal with, we negotiated the price I needed to get out of it and they tacked on 500 over that.

Very seamless process.....
