I have recently been rebuilding my bike after a lay down and I was putting the side covers on the tail and the left side won't match up with the holes while the right side went on without a problem. Any suggestions? Did I bend the subframe and can I bend it back if it is? :?

It sound's like if it's bent it's not bad and usually they can be tweeked back..

Just hook a tie down strap to the side that's tweeked, have a buddy sit on your bike, then hook the other end to you car bumper, hold in the clutch, rev the piss outr of it, then dump the cutch....

Alright I've had my fun... seriously though, it can be straightened.. 8)

I've never experienced this myself, but I just re-read your original post and had a thought (and hopefully some of the more repair-experienced might be able to add some input on this) - if the subframe is bent, wouldn't both sides have a problem with alignment? One side went on fine, and one is misaligned - could it just be that something's in the way?

How far off is the left side? 1/4"? 1/2"? More?
