The CDOT crews have filled in the road cracks with the nasty black 'tar snakes'. The 'snakes' are extremely slick. My friend, who lives in Nederland, told me that his front end washed away 6" and scared the shit outta him. BE CAREFUL IF YOU RIDE 119.

I'm not a big fan of that road anyway, too close to the city and most of the curves have to be taken at go-to-jail speeds for them to be fun. Anyway, thanks for the heads up, I'm all for surprised, but not in this case.

Rode this canyon two weeks ago for the first time in a long time. The tar snakes depreciated the experience significantly.

With these hot temps, they are really bad. Hopefully they will get worn in and not be so treacherous in a bit.

They won't get better until after a winter and the plows dump tons of sand on the road.

they are fine as long as its not really hot and you have to stay on the inside of the turn there seems to be less on the inside. I will hit this up in early mornin before it gets hot and before there is to many cars

Watch out for the wide loads, for you may not want to hang on the inside/center line.
