hmmm I like that....what prohibits it being done to a R6? Looking at the web site I notice a reduced diamater from the header collector into the mesh of the mirage, will this affect performance? And listening to thier videos, it sounds more mellow than one would expect. Any input is appreciated.

Theres nothing like the sound of a screaming exhaust as you pass some one.

Uh-oh... threadjacking in progress!

hmmm I like that....what prohibits it being done to a R6?I don't know if there's a difference between the diameter of the collector pipe on the R1 vs. the R6, but except for that, I see no reason why this wouldn't work - it's even designed to work with Yamaha's EXUP valve.

will this affect performance?Yes, but not in a bad way. :D See for yourself (taken from their website):

Theres nothing like the sound of a screaming exhaust as you pass some one. I think Brian meant that it didn't sound like a straight pipe, as one might expect. It's not that quiet :D - comments on the R1 forum say that it's about the same as a D&D.

EXUP valve? throw a bone to the noob :)My bad - the R6 doesn't have one (the R1 does, and I just got an R6, so I'm still learning about it). But FYI, the EXUP (Exhaust Ultimate Powervalve) valve regulates backpressure through the collector for better low-end & midrange power.

well never mind, guess I will just get a regular pipe. Here is MCM's reply

Hi Brian,

You're correct about the Mirage being available only for the R1. The
specific geometry of the R1 Ex-Up valve is what makes an exhaust design like
this work without hindering performance, or creating an excessively loud
exhaust.

Though a series of dyno tests, we custom tuned the diameters, lengths and
perforations of the Mirage Slip-On to obtain the best combination of sound
and performance within the smallest canister size possible.

Thank you for your inquiry, let us know if you have any further questions.

im sad now :(

It could be like the chopper "Billy Lane" built on discovery channel for the "Great Biker Build Off". The one that caught the back of his jacket on fire. The underseat, over rear fender exhaust, pretty trick
