A week or so ago I posted a note about the BMW 100,000' Altitude ride. Rita and I went on the ride on Saturday. We didn't complete all the passes as listed but we had a pretty nice time anyway.

300 registered participants so probably 250 or so bikes riding up Berthoud Pass to Rocky Mountain NP, over to Willow Creek Pass, Rabbit Ears Pass, Gore Pass, Vail Pass and back to Denver. About 470 miles.

We did the Berthoud Pass up to Muddy Creek Pass and then came back via Cameron Pass and Poudre Canyon Road for a total of about 415 miles.

Still, it was a pretty cool (and chilly) ride. Full report and pictures over here:

Did you catch any of that rain on the way back? I saw you at Berthoud.

Hey thanks for the pic (flattering as it was :) )

Nope, we saw the rain both to the east and west and even saw the rain coming down towards the east but we seemed to drive right up the corridor. A little wet roads was all we caught.

Carl

Edit: we may have gotten one or two of you as well. Check out the photos in http://www.schelin.org/20060805/day01 That's where all the pics are located.

We stopped at Brueggers and got bagles before we got to Foothills. We figured there'd be donuts and juice (continental breakfast) and really didn't want the additional sugar :)

So you got our bagels :)

There are some additional pics in http://www.schelin.org/20060805/day01 I just make certain ones part of the ride report.
