Those fricking cameras are all over England. They have replaced real traffic police. The cameras are supposed to be put in spped hot spots and proven areas where accidents have happened but generally they have been put where they can generate the most money.

The guy presenting (programme is called Top Gear (http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/)) is a really good guy and a writer for a weekly motorcycle paper in the UK - does lots of campaigning to raise bike awareness. He was seriously hurt in an accident a couple of months ago filming for a new season of the show. His car was doing 300mph . Great guy!

I remember when that happened, but I haven't seen anything on it since. Was an update on his condition and the circumstances of the crash (or video of it) ever released?

wow, I'll bet one of his tires went out or something. At those speeds it's as if the tires change into something else. Anyone ever see a tire on a wheel that spins that fast. It's actually kinda cool if you ever see it on camara. Not sure if I'm articulating this properly but to say the least it's something to see if you've never seen it before...

anyways sounds like he'll make it. Although it doesn't sound like he'll walk again but perhaps I'm reading inbetween the lines wrong

oh yeah pilot if your going to do this with your ride let me know so I can grab my camara.

Wow, so you know all about bikes and dragsters and causes of high speed crashes and medicine? You must be quite a catch!

I know next to nothing about these things. I just know that the tires start to change shape with higher speeds. It's like a tire on a mountian bike starts to look like the tire on a speed bike.

Not sure if the crash footage was ever released. Until his condition is finalized and he/his family have approved the release it would probably be pretty poor taste (IMO). He is on the mend though - http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/richard_hammond.shtml
