That first one isn't a crash, it's a plane just on the edge of the sound barrier. The pressure wave is visible just before they pass through. The Blue Angels do a flyby in their show where one of the planes does that exact thing.

NO they don't. That could possibly pop the eardrums of everyone in attendance. They DO fly up on the crowd from behind at ALMOST the speed of sound so you don't hear them coming until they're right on top of you, but there are strict rules that apply to breaking the sound barrier over populated areas and at low altitudes. That shit can blow out windows and such.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I didn't mean to imply that they broke the sound barrier, but that they fly up to the edge of it and demonstrate the vapor flash that the first plane in the video shows.

I remember all of the Blue Angels shows I used to go watch when I lived in California...

In addition, that first vid of the F-14 I believe was indeed a crash if they showed the entire clip. After the tomcat broke the sound barrier, one (or both) of the engines malfunctioned and the pilots had to eject I believe.
