    slow leak

I have an annoying slow leak in my front tire, and i know this is really gonna sound like a "newb", but, can it be fixed like a car tire or does the tire have to be replaced? If it does have to be replaced, should the front and back tire be the same brand?

Most places that I know of wont patch bike tires anymore for safety. So with that, yeah...just get another tire. The brands do not have to be the same. Some people prefer that they are the same cuz when they ride hard they seem to get different feedback from the front as opposed to the rear (as far as feel and stickiness in turns). It's all personal preference.

Tires don't have to be a matched set, but it's recommended. Different brands, and even different models in the same brand could have different profiles, which could affect handling. Also to a lesser degree it's nice to have the same compound front and back.
