Very good article...Apparently I'm close to having my knee down, but my leathers are new and WAY too tight on my fat ass knees...so I guess I know what my problem is! Thanks!

    Re: Physics of the lean.

I used to be like the top-left picture, though at times it felt more like the top-middle picture. Now, I ride more like the top-right picture. I don't know WTF he means by getting your knee down with the bike that upright not being cool... maybe on the street that's true, but on the track, the bike will be more leaned over, and I'll be hanging my head over the inside hand to get an added advantage.

    Re: Physics of the lean.

i have only had one person reprimand me on my riding style.
he was so damn close to me while we were jetting up to cameron pass that i couldn't concentrate on what i was doing.
i have asked several times from people what they may have witnessed while they had the poor luck to be stuck behind me,but everytime i ask they say they weren't paying attention.
regardless, i still keep it upright and not laying on the ground

Yeah, one issue that isn't being addressed with that series of pictures is the front-rear weight distribution which is probably as important as the side-to-side distribution. I like to get weight forward when I'm on the gas in a turn. As I go through turn at less than full speed, I tend to lean forward first, head in line with the center of the bike, then as I take it faster, I begin to move my head and body to the inside of the turn and bring my head down even more, keeping the lean of the bike a little less extreme. It feels like my head is down near the front wheel but it's really just to the side of the windscreen.

    I noticed that too.

Maybe he thinks it increases the chances of launching into a highside as opposed to hanging off riding high (lower right)??????

I just tilt my gigantic head out and it's all the counterweight I need.

I use my big fat Mullett-Head as counterweight to my big brass ballz and it seems to work for me.....maybe I should get some Titanium Nut-Sliders?!?!?!

Sure...blame it on your knees! Hehe....that's what I do too.

I was thinking it has something to do with a lil less control of the bike...when you are hanging off that far, if the bike starts to slide, you aren't on it enough to counteract the forces and save it, and thus seem more likely to wreck.
