What is a good brand of rear sets and how much should I expect to pay?
I need some that adjust up and back.
Thanks for any info.

I would say expect to spend upwards of $400 for rearsets.
Also, with most aftermarket rearsets, they are not set up for the micro switch for rear brake light...you can *usually* purchase that stuff seperately, or you can just go without (I am never on the rear without the front, so I figure light is triggered that way).
Vortex and Woodcraft are two common ones a lot of people have. ValterMoto (sp) is another that is out there...you might talk to Joe Logalbo (jplracing) as I *think* he can get these.
I went with a set from these guys when I broke the ones on my gix http://stores.ebay.com/OSF-Inc-Adjustable-Rearsets and have absolutely loved them. They are cheaper than the Vortex, and the guys there really worked with me and overnighted a set to me when I needed them in a pinch. Downside....I went with a tapered peg (to get max ground clearance) and have torn open my leg when backing the bike up (sharp on the edges).
Install took me like 30 minutes, including doing all the adjustment on the new shift linkage.
Also, I recall a couple of threads started by people looking into rearsets...you might search the forums for info as well.

Yeah, I know aobut Vortex and Woodcraft. I am wondering about cheaper ones. I could search the forums, but that would require effort on my part!!! Just kidding.

Mel you are right I do sell Valtermoto and Woodcraft Rearsets.
Dallas,
If you are on a budget I would recommend these

If you have a little more I would recommend the woodcraft
http://www.axismoto.com/CFM_rearsets.asp
Either way they don't have the brake light switch, but I believe they can be ordered via Valter
Joe
I think I would go with the ValterMoto fixed for $180.
How do you determine how far up and back?
Errr, close enough.Originally Posted by dallas
I would say measure, but that is just a shot in the dark there....Originally Posted by dallas

Anyways, logically and economically, I don't see myself buying adjustable rearsets when I am going to set them in the ideal position for me and never adjust them again. I would rather find my "sweet spot" for peg position and buy a fixed set.
We'll see what happens, I almost have my tax return spent.
Woodcraft, woodcraft, woodcraft.....
Did I mention Woodcraft?
Talk to Joe (Axis Moto), he will fix you up..... They are tough, look great, and save you a bundle......

After reading your post about your turn 1 crash and how the Woodcraft held up, I think I will go with those now instead.
Sato's are the best! You can find some knock-offs on E-bay at a fairly resonable price. If you don't spend over 300 on reasets save your money.Originally Posted by Airreed

I just got some adjustable rearsets off eBay for 200. I've only put about 20 miles on them but I'm not disappointed.

But if could afford it I'd go with a real brand...
We can set you up with a bunch of different brands, both adjustable and non-adjustable, depending on the budget. The easiest way to take care of the rear brake light switch is to use a banjo bolt pressure switch, which we have in stock for $22.99. All you have to do is replace the banjo bolt on the rear master cylinder, hook up the 2 wires, and bleed the rear brake line.
Thanks, Jim

Depends on the bike, and no I just got rearsets to keep pegs from dragging, if the stock ones didn't drag, I didn't use aftermarket (RC15).Originally Posted by *KEN*
