    Couple questions:
    2) Are there any safety/orientation classes prior to the 29th?
    1) Is Joe running the class on the 29th?
    3) Do all bikes, water and air cooled, require closed belly pans?(Thinking of bringing the RD350 just for grins.)
    4) Can you run a naked bike? (Since they won't let me ride naked.)
    5) Any chance of getting them to make the 29th a twilight bike night? (Open till 8pm)

    Optional extra credit question:
    6) What is the meaning of life?

And thanks you (and Joe, and enyone else involved) for setting this up.
    Hey Jeff,

    here you go
    1) Yes, please get in touch with Joe to schedule it
    2) Yes, Joe and several other instructors have stepped up to assist with the class on the 29th
    3) There are no requirements for closed belly pans. The only hard and fast requirements for having your bike on the track at Pueblo are that the lights be disconnected and taped over, the mirrors removed and the anti-freeze be completely drained. The RD should be fine.
    4) Naked bike? Yes. Naked Jeff? No.
    5) I'm not sure, but I think that there will be more than plenty enough riding for everyone during the day.

I recently had the time to contemplate the answer to #6 as I was taking an unscheduled flight, Flight #186 departing the east course at Miller. Here's what I came up with:

    6) One should live life to it's fullest. Sometimes that means going fast and taking some chances. Treat others with the care and consideration that you wish to be treated with and when things go badly, open yourself up to the idea that sometimes things go badly and the friends you didn't know you had will come through for you.

Are there still spots open for this day? I would like to participate if my bike is ready.

    Mel,

You're in! Do we need to get you the class or have you taken the MRA school?

    I just signed up! Wooo!

Anyone from Denver (or nearby) going who needs/wants to split a trailer rental? I don't have a hitch for my explorer - but could prolly score one with the rental. Hit me up if you're interested!

EDIT: I'd also be willing to toss in for gas loot (and a few 12 packs) if anyone has a spare spot on their trailer. Unfortunately, I do not know many of you folks personally yet - but if some one has the extra space, I'd appreciate the help.

    Hi Scott,

I'm very interested in being apart of the PMP Track day event. I'd fall into the $160 session but I was wondering if I have to pay now to sign up or is there an option to pay later or on the day of the event? Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Brian,

Please do sign up. I'll be looking for payment of fees in late June or early July. There will NOT be an option to pay on the day of the event.

The one thing you have to pay for now (if you haven't already) is to become a yearly of lifetime supporter of the CSC. You can do this by using the user CP menu near the top left corner of your screen. One of the options on that list is "paid subscriptions" Use the menu in that list, contribute as you see fit and let me know it's done and I'll be happy to add you to the list.

    Thanks!

    Scott

Hmm - what kinda car? I just have a plethora of tools I'm gonna need to bring too. Got the space? But I did find a 2 rail trailer for $35 a day that will rent to Explorers. Let's plan on splitting it and towing together!

What part of Denver you in? ...shoot me a PM.

I was going over the bike prep rules with a friend of mine who used to race, and he asked about "safety wiring". Will I need to do any safety wiring on my bike in preparation for PMP?

Also - will the built in back-pad in my Joe Rocket Blaster jacket suffice as a "back protector"? Or is this a separate piece of gear?

Yes, I'm a track n00b. However, I just want to make sure I don't come unprepared for this event. I want to have all my ducks in a row come July 29.

Sorry for the slow response on this one

    1. No safety wire is required.
    2. Depends on the quality of the back protector. If it's just a foamy thing in the back of the jacket it's not sufficient. If it has hard plastic on it it's fine.

    See you soon

I read through the thread and didn't see the question. I have a flip-up HJC full faced helmet. Is that acceptible or do I need to chase down a new one?

Also, while I don't have a problem riding down (even if they are track type tires), I wouldn't mind sharing a trailer if someone wants to go larger, chipping in for gas and splitting the costs.

Oh, any recommendations on a decent (without going nuts) back protector. Or something that works right for an Alpenstars suit and I'll hunt for a good deal.

For safety, just in case, I wouldn't take a flip up helmet on the track, I have one and won't even wear it on the street anymore.

    Carl,

Like Bueller said I also would not take a flip up helmet to the track. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, there isn't a Dot and Snell approved flip up helmet on the market.

So if it is not dot and Snell you will need to chase a new one down.

I am planning on going with the SV. Anyone got room in a trailer or willing to split the costs of a small rental? I might be able to ralk Rita into going and we have a hitch but we'd only be able to pull a railed trailer or small open one (couple of bikes and whatever we could fit in the car).
