Just wondering if anybody uses a manual tensioner for their dirtbike/quad? Good idea or bad idea? Was it worth the swap?

I put one on my DRZ only because the Suzuki ones are suspect, they supposedly put too much tension on the chain and prematurely stretch it out. $50 bucks for piece of mind, but I won't be changing them on my other thumpers.
Yeah just make sure you adjust it periodically. $50 piece of mind, but as the chain stretches over time (which it will), the slack can eat motors if not kept up. Just check it every 1000mi or so.

If it gets loose you will hear it. *rattle rattle*
Cool thanks guys. Quick question, are they pretty easy to set to the right tension? How do you know if you are putting too much or not enough pressure?
