    Re: transmission work

We can repair it, but it may end up being uneconomical to do so. A lot of the 600 Katanas had this issue, so Suzuki updated the transmissions with stronger pieces on the later models. You can retrofit the better stuff into any of the motors, but you end up having to replace almost all of the transmission, as the mainshaft is different. A better choice would be to find a later model engine to put in your bike.

i was afraid of that. i found a complete gearset on ebay and parts i dont need for like $75. but i dont want to have to tear the complete engine apart to do so. could you pm me a price that you charge to do this service? i just got it running great and that second gear thing is really pissing me off. thanks for the reply.

We have the same issues with the RF900's It seams that the second gear need to be undercut and the shifter forks need to be replaced when repairing the trans gears. I am also wondering if the RF900 gears are the same as those you have in your gearbox. Maybe TFOG can tell us.

    Re: transmission work

The later gears for the 600 are undercut from the factory. The 900 shares transmission parts with the 750s and 1100s, but the 600 Bandit/Katana is actually mostly 400 parts.
