I've always found that Sunday evening rides are nice. Most of the cagers are hiding in their dens at that time. The weather is great today, so if anyone is interested in a bit of a stroll, I'll keep an eye on this post.

Be here at 5 p.m.
We'll meet at the Conoco just west of I-25 and Lincoln on the south side of town. It is about two stoplights west of I-25. It is on the north side of Lincoln. If you drive past the Target you went too far.
xcellent! variety of terrain in a short distance.

+1 terrain/weather. Sooner or later I'll be able to corner with you guys, but wasn't going to try in the rain & wind today.
Henry, did your extra headlights come in handy in that rain and hail?
Matt, how much water did you wring out of those jeans?
Bassil, how many times did you rear break loose cornering in the rain?
Good ride gents, good ride.
yeah that was fun. Didn't expect an evening ride to entail wind making you lean so hard that I nearly dragged a knee and hail that made me half blind lol. Oh yeah the hydro gliding was kool too! You always manage to keep it interesting pilot. Ummm it came lose on a couple of turns and I saw yours do the same. At first the mindset was if he can do it I can do it, but then I started to factor in the tread, brand and size of your tires and your combined weight so I started to lag a little behind just to play it safe. If I had to guess how many turns it came a little lose or at least that I noticed it'd come lose was about a quarter of the turns in the rain? How about you?

I've found that, before a rain-ride, I like to spray my rear tire with some Rain-X. This really helps sheet the water off, thus it aids as an inhibitor to hydroplaning. Just grab a sheet, reach back, wipe your tail and go. An independent study on this issue (with cool application pictures and a link to the Rain-X Girls of Summer calender

A rearward looking video camera would have been cool as hell. I was watching your tail spray water up in the air. It looked like the back end of your bike was on fire and you were trying to outrun the flames.
Three cool things I saw whilst riding:Matt, skip the jeans, I recommend this kind of rain gear for your next ride
- A bad-ass rainbow that looked so close we could almost touch it.
- That heard of deer on the side of Tomah Rd as we cornered around them at some Isle of Man speed.
- The shite eatin' grins on your faces after we ran the ridge through the lightning strikes on Lake Gulch!
She's not bad, but I think she would slow me down with that umbrella..
That is the big downside of jeans. I don't own a set of leathers, and the riding pants tend to get kinda hot when the weather clears up.
Last year I rode in a pair of those mesh textiles. They were kind of like football jersey material and ventilated very well. I could wear them over jeans easily enough. They provided some more protection to the knees hips and backside.
nothing like leathers. Guaranteed I would have had a new asshole ripped open had it not been for the leathers when I went down at IMI the day before

Leathers= safety at the expense of comfort. But I still did feel like a Power Ranger on Lawrence St.
