IMI Saturday, if pavement is bad, maybe cart rentals???

Alright so of course a few of us are going to IMI this Saturday May 19th. I think the pavement will be fine, but in the event that it is not safe, anyone game for renting the carts???

Bring your gear and bike, I have a feeling that it will still be a decent day.

I think I will still rent carts regardless sometime that day, just to give it a try.

    Jay,
We have to get you on a bigger track. What do you think about Pueblo on Monday?

Patrick, I would love to get on a bigger track, especially Pueblo, was a blast with my car,
Steezy303 (Joe) was also holding the camcorder at that time on the track.....

Unfortunately I still need to prep the bike, work weekdays; gotta request specific days off. Also get my ROrlando race school out of the way June 26th. I know, excuses excuses.....but believe me, I will be there on July 29th and during MRA practice sessions and open track days for bikes in the near future.

You all are going to think I'm a pain once I am out there, I am going to be asking so many questions!!!!!

I haven't been to IMI yet nor is my bike setup for track, but I am kinda curious on how much kart rentals would cost?

I believe it starts at 25 or so, depending on how many laps you run. I believe 35 bucks is the norm that most people pay for either 10 or 20 laps, i forgot.

Your bike doesn't need anything to get on the track at IMI though.....we (individuals) just ask to remove or tape up your mirrors. I bring tape with me all the time even though I don't need it anymore.

Sounds like a good time. I'll be out with gear for pics if it's safe to run bikes, otherwise I'm good for carts. What time we thinking?

How can the track be used if they are repaving?

    They are re-paving in sections.....

that way they can remain open on weekends when they have their greatest profits.

So freshly layed asphalt is going to be torn up by the carts?

Supposedly, they are filling in the bad spots on the track this week. Next week will be the repaving. The actual repaving is not a long process from what I was told.

The bumps have been smoothed out but there were a lot of rocks on the track. I spent an hour cleaning all the turns but the karts kept kicking stuff back on the track and the new asphalt patches had rocks breaking out. It wasn't too bad once cleaned up but I wasn't pushing it. Definitely rideable. I had a good time.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."
